I find it hilarious that there's so much hate for Questlove when he's obviously as much of a fan and studied his output far more than most here. Truth be told, The Flesh album probably wouldn't be in circulation had it not been for him. He has put more than his fair share of goodies up on his own site if you knew where to look. Has he been critical of P, yes... But no more than the bulk of fans who considered Prince's first decade as "The Glory Years". However, he has always revered Prince as one of the greatest of all time. You know that 10 minute rehearsal of America that started doing the rounds awhile ago? That was courtesy of him... Mainly because I broke the rules and put it on a site where someone ripped it off from me and from there it spread. He shared a LOT of material privately via Soundcloud if you didn't come across as one of those "You-owe-me-the-right-to-hear-material-that's-not-yours-in-the-first-place" type of fans. But because he chooses the right to be selective about who, when and where he shares stuff with, that's considered arrogance?!!! .... right...

maybe he has the whole Family album sung by prince...

He can be a total dick tho! Going in H.A.M on P for not turning up to a D'Angelo gig??? Saying they're the only two people left who care about his legacy? That is hardcore dirty. To me he's the fanatic type of fan & yes you're right a lot of fans have seemed more like haters but Q's still a dick whether he shares stuff or not. Well, I can't be mad at Questlove because his feelings were hurt. As a fan of all 3 artists, I can understand where he was coming from at the time. He was disappointed. The same words were felt when P didn't attend/acknowledge the Revolution/Protege Family Reunion some years ago. I just don't see how he's a "dick"

I don't think I've ever seen the guy discuss something that happened after 1988 in Prince's studio career.

I'm not referring to Prince talking about Questlove - it's vice versa. Both things I'm referring to are in his book Mo Meta Blues. The out princed prince is a direct quote, the other bit he said something like if you want to get to know a celeb who is defensive/closed off befriend the 5 people closest to them. Also go back through his insta pre 21st April- he's made a few digs on there.

imagine a box set of The Time lps and The Family lp with Prince vocals....

More famous on the org maybe, but outside this place - he has had fans for years with little or no knowlege of his Prince connection.

Yeah... I suppose what I struggle with there is Quest teaching a University course on Prince and his fans not knowing that.

Thank you for saying this. ?uest isnt a nobody. The Roots are highly respected and well known even outside hiphop circles. I get that folks feel some type of way, but really dont rag on the mans accomplishments.

We wouldn't be talking about him now if not for the fact he's playing unheard Prince songs in his DJ set.

Why can't he leak it?All he has to do is upload it to any torrent or share site just like anybody else that leak stuff. I'm sure he didn't aquire the song oficially.

not just this track, but im a little surprised that there hasnt been a significant leak of new songs since his passing. Thought a new unreleased compilation wouldve hit the streets by now....broken faucets (or wahtever it was) or BFTP 4.0

broken faucets appears to have had princes 'family' - so im wondering if TSOP that questlove played was from this set. Gee i hope this set see's the light of day!
