Yep that song always brings up images of bacon and clorox bleach for me...really ruins my thoughts of eating really good bacon...great now breakfast is ruined..

I felt this way before all the really bad tribute versions and such.

For me, it is really great in the movie but I just never liked it outside of movie. I always felt people read to much into the song and at the time I was into Darling Nikki ( I was just a kid and having a "potty mouth" was fun. I just felt from there Prince would only do bigger and more better music, he already had, I just wasn't allowed to listen to ir.

I saw Prince live 5 times and 4 times he performed Purple Rain. That was the best time for a restroom break. The only time I saw him perform it was at EssenceFEST in 2014 and I stayed because it was 30years that week(at least that is what Prince told me, I didn't fact check).

Now that Prince has passed, I never want to hear it again!!!!!!!!!

Amen. Like a SNL skit. Also, who starts a song with boys and "mother fucking girls". Really! I know he apparently was in an angry phase towards women at that point, but for those raising girls that alone makes me not want to continue, even before he gets to that nails on a blackboard hook.
