In your opinion what was Princes single greatest legacy?

As we all sit back & come to terms with his transition there has been & will continue to be so much to reflect upon. 'The legacy' gets mentioned constantly in the context of the vast & unrivalled variety of music left behind. I wonder for many on here is it the music or does it go beyond that for you?

For me it is without doubt his Fight for Artists Rights & the private time he gave so freely to so many to advise on the music industry & pass on the lessons he had learnt.

The respect & gratitude shown by countless musicians / singers/songwriters for the support he gave behind the scenes speaks volumes for him as a person.

The search box is your friend. This is the second thread in which you've asked the same question posted within the last two months or recently at least; the first being "what is the future of the org".

It would have to be his great love of sports.

Whether it was a game of ping-pong with Jimmy Fallon or a pick up game of basketball with Charlie Murphy, Prince was a true sportsman. And he supported his home town sports teams, even going so far as to write the ultimate "fight song" for the Vikings!

This entire forum has become more of the same the last few weeks. It may be time to move on, away from the org. At least until new albums show up. But then the only thing you see is alternative tracklists and which song is the best and so on...

luvsexy4all, I was in the exact same thought-process as you, until I did the math. Then I had to break it down: Who did Prince trust to do things EXACTLY as he would have? Sheila wants to burn the vault. There are no children (that we know of). There is no wife. His siblings do not have experience in "the business." Lawyers and Record Execs are gonna milk everything for what it's worth, and the faith community he was a part of would have probably shunned the majority of it! Why bother to write ANYTHING down? If you hand the vault over to Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, that would be imo a serious irony...lol. I mean, really....

I believe he DID leave instructions...and, for whatever reason, they are being suppressed.
