Bootleg of the Nude tour. There's also one up of Rock In Rio. Not a good look for amazon to sell these on their site. But i guess they can't fact check everything.

If it's not NPG Records, then it ain't legit. Even at this point, it will probably be under that rubber stamp, possibly coupled with a legitimate distribution label, whether corporate or independent. Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

It doesn't matter anymore. Prince is gone. There's no one to track down bootlegs and bootleggers any longer. There's going to be more and more of this. I prefer to get my boots for free though.

its ridiculous all the dvds and cds being sold on amazon that DONT LIST the tracks or content..why isnt his estate stopping this?

The radio broadcast CDs are not bootlegs http://store.hmv.com/musi...-recording stores like HMV would be breaking the law if they were. There's rights that allow radio broadcasts to be sold at retail.

Because Prince is no longer alive and no one is going to be as militant as Prince was about bootleggers. There are videos all over Youtube and FB and cds, dvds, t-shirts, necklaces, bracelets, and all kinds of shit being sold on the internet. No one, especially people not being paid by Prince anymore, are going to pursue all these outlets. It's over. the floodgates have opened and it's impossible to close them now. Prince's "organization" wasn't that big. This is one of the major drawbacks to him running a mom and pop organziation. It was basically Prince, a publicist, a lawyer or two, and maybe an accountant. If he had been on a major label like Warner, he'd be protected from this shit because they would want to make all the money themselves. Prince was really running and paying for everything by himself which is the way he wanted it. However, he must have not thought much about what would happen the day he was no longer with us.

Prince and Friends: The Legendary FM Broadcast Naked in the Summertime: 1990 Broadcast Recording Rock in Rio: January 1991 - Volume 2 Purple Reign in New York: Carrier Dome, Syracuse, 1985 The Beautiful Ones: Radio Broadcast 1985 Are all 100% legal so they're not boots. While not officially endorsed by prince, they are 100% genuine and legally allowed to be sold. Couple are even free to listen to on the BBCs website.

Not all recordings outside the official Prince catalog are automatically bootlegs, that is correct. I'm not sure about the recordings you mentioned, but live broadcasts often are legit because the legal rights often are with the broadcast companies and not with the artists. Unless contractually stated otherwise, of course. I guess it's been cleared before release in order to avoid legal problems afterwards. 'Liberate My Mind'

Legal or not, Prince would have stopped this release when he was alive. Just find a free download of it and don't support the company.

None of them are sold in the labels website, Smokin' records, despitena 2016 release year according to Amazon. I find that odd. [Edited 7/14/16 1:52am]

Take your own advice. Even though i only have basic knowledge about the selling/ownership of radio broadcasts, seeing them sold in a store like HMV means they're 100% legal.

That is correct. I find it strange that lots of people have such a strong opinion about bootlegs. That's okay, but if so, I'd like to take a look on their cd shelves..... 'Liberate My Mind'

I wonder sometimes if he didn't care. Maybe he wanted to give it all away after his time here. Or maybe he trusted we could work it out for ourselves Or maybe he just couldn't be bothered with it all; too much work, planning, etc.

I see nothing wrong with bootlegs. Real fans buy all his legit releases and if they still want more, they buy his bootlegs. They want more Prince.

Prince hired a company that specialized in finding unauthorized stuff and sending out the C&D letters. Prince wasn't hovering around youtube looking for stuff. Prince is dead and the estate is completely up in the air, therefor any unneeded expenses have been eliminated. This was one of them. I'd do anything to get Prince back, but that's not going to happen, and I really don't care for the "heirs" to have more money, so I'm enjoying this while I can. If Prince didn't care enough for the heirs to be protected, then I don't feel one ounce of guilt for downloading the rare stuff for free.
