Did he check out partly because... He could see what was coming. He was all about love And it seems the world is sorely lacking in that these days Maybe he could see the way this is headed My password is what

He overdosed.. but I think he was a very sick, tired and lonely man. Fame and fortune can be a curse.

Some of you newbies on this site are just so disrespectful. Go back to Twitter, snapchat and all those other stupid social media sites and leave the Org to those of us that cared so deeply about Prince.

He's the one that sang the wrote the song and sang the lyrics.
"Don't let the elevator bring us down
Before the grim reaper come knocking on your door
Maybe it's 'cause we're all gonna die"
Oh yeah, and...
"Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill..."

The de-elevator, yes. The elevator? No. Also the use is clearly symbolic.

THANK YOU for saying this. Romanticising any of it is a disservice to those who could learn from it and/or be inspired to help themselves sooner ie: Chaka.

I'm a newbie, and this is my 2nd post, but I'll still give my opinion on the matter. I think Prince was a victim of his own fame and power. He could get anything he wanted at the snap of a finger. No one would say no to him ... not even his doctors. Prince hid his weaknesses and addiction from his fans because he had an image to uphold. But behind the glam rock and roll image I believe was a very lonely man. He also had a tendency of dismissing people when he became disappointed or bored. A very high wall from his early childhood abandonment issues perhaps. For me his death is hard because he's another of my generation that is gone too soon. I was born in 1958, five months after Prince. I was sad when Michael Jackson died, but Prince is much harder to take. Probably because Michael was a train wreck, but Prince always seemed to have it together. Since his death I've been going back and listening to his music, and I'm reminded of what a fantastic talent he was. And what an extremely gorgeous man he was. Very sad and tragic.
