Yeah actually I do know how to use the google search thanks- I did look to see if this had posted and saw you can no longer post to that thread. Also the last time anyone posted it was April 14 which was about a week before Prince died. I thought the article was interesting in hindsight. Dang. Surprise, surprise.

I remember this article. And I remember HATING Neal Karlen and CJ even more after reading this ugly article. This is what I wrote back then: " I like Neal Karlen´s Prince interviews for Rolling Stone a lot but in this short video he comes across as a very mean, unlikeable asshole. Maybe he´s a nice person but while watching this interview I thought he was full of shit. To joke about Prince´s death so that the personal Prince items Karlen owns become more valuable was a very mean, nasty, evil spirited and unfunny joke. Or maybe he wasn´t even joking...which would make him an even bigger asshole than he already seems to be. So he´s this big writer, literature expert, academic, former Rolling Stone writer, and he brags about a few letters and autographs and speculates on how much they´d be worth if Prince died? GTFOOH. What a fucking idiot! Typical for CJ to come up with such a shitty interview. Dude was all over the place....very unstructured. Half of what he said didn´t even make much sense. So CJ and Karlen somehow find Prince irrelevant, yet all they can talk about it Prince?"
- - So, now that Prince is gone maybe Mr.Karlen can make a few quick bucks selling personal stuff that Prince gave him because he trusted him. With so many backstabbers and false friends around him it is no wonder that Prince was very skeptical of people, and the more I read about these individuals, the more I understand why Prince behaved the way he did. " I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"

I read where N.Karlen said after P died that he felt really terrible for saying those things and the part about waiting for P to die to sell that stuff wasnt truly serious..and that he loved P. Words hurt. It makes me sad to think Prince read this. I wish people would learn to keep such nastiness to themselves but I guess that's the lesson you learn after you say some real hurtful shit and then that person goes and does on you. Surprise, surprise.

It just goes to show that we should be careful about what we say about others... Words we can't take back...and later regret. "Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything." --Plato

I'd like to know much more about the rock opera he and Prince were working on called The Dawn.

What an ungrateful little cur. For not wanting to be the Prince guy, he sure talked a lot about Prince. The sad thing is that there are so many people who actually loved Prince, yet he sought connection with the likes of ingrates like this fellow.
