I would somewhat agree with you IF ... she sang this at the BET awards BUT ... she didn't.

This song is not going to be a big commercial hit .. it's a very real, honest and distilled reflection of what she felt for him .. to honor him.

On Sunday she left it all on the stage to honor Prince and now this song ... beautifully expresses her grief.

I'm glad she put this out into the world and her timing is perfect, in my opinion. She's grieving a very special era in her life.

I don't think so. I think she waited until after the tribute to be respectful. It's part of her healing. Did I pay 1.29 for a download? You bet I did. Small price to pay. She is a good person with a good heart and I love this song. It's from her heart.

I likes..........brings back 38 years of Prince memories.

I really enjoyed this song and in the video when there was a flash of a photo of Prince at the beginning of his career and her when she was about the same age around the time they met each other, I lost it. Brought tears to my eyes. I can ony imagine the grief she must be feeling but I think making this song, video and in addition, doing that amazing tribute on BET was very cathartic for her.

If she were trying to make some cash. she should have promoted the song at the BET Awards and made it so that we couldn't hear the song, until after we purchased it. But she didn't do any of that, did she?

I hope she does more of the songs she did during her tribute(that wasn't a BET tribute that was a Sheila E Tribute lol) the owwwhaaa she had so much in her, she probably would have done a song each album from Prince the Time Sheila E the Family & Madhouse lol

No, she didn't leave him. Prince brought her and Cassandra(her keyboardist) and before they made it to Italy Prince took her off the tour and sent her home and kept Cassandra. Then during the Welcome 2 America tour in California he was supposed to have her and the EFamily open, then at the last minute took them off. After that she basically said she had to work to get her shows/career moving.

When Prince summond her for a Michigan show, she declined.

But they reconciled sometime last year, when she flew out to Minneapolis

Brent Fischer, Clare's son, probably created the string arrangement. He worked with D'Angelo on "Really Love".

I have to agree... that a few people have taken to calling her Sheile mE. mE. mE. is perhaps crude but not without a little merit. I'm sure she's hurting but there seems to be some angling going on, imo. ...and it was bad enough that the media kept referring to her as his former fiance (as opposed to all the others he's had) but she's doing so on her own website. She wasn't labeling ehrself that way prior to his death and I doubt he'd like to see it now.

Its just a real somber song.....I can't say I really liked it either, the lyrics are not there for me but she came up with this so soom after he left. I know she has muchmore iside than she is letting out.

I'm glad I'm not the only one. I was hoping for more than that, than there was the org build up-everyone is crying and all emotional. I get nothing
