The official concert DVD is A-MAZE-ING. Seriously. I hadn't seen it in over a decade and just watched it again.

The whole thing is fantastics. If I could invent a time machine, I'd transport myself back to the front row of that particular concert before I did anything else.

I actually have two obscure favorite moments. The first is towards the end during "Let's Go Crazy". He's doing this call-and-answer with the crowd - which is HUGE and totally there with him. It starts out as a vocal call-and-answer, but then Prince is using the guitar to lead the answer, speeding it up as he goes. You can just see the delight and joy on his face as the audience matches him at every note.

The second occurs during the credits on the DVD. It starts with the band - like, 'Sheila E - Drums, Percussion, Vocals'... 'Boni Boyer - Keyboards, Vocals'. Runs through all the band members, and the very last entry says:

'Prince - whatever'

I found that hilarious!

There is no official concert DVD. Unless you're referring to this.

Just putting that out there so folks don't go looking for an official release -- but end up unknowingly buying a bootleg.

The DVD is a straight rip from the PAL laserdisc or the PAL VHS cassette. It was never officially released in the U.S. in any format.

Hopefully someday an official release will be made available. Until then, you can still buy it for around $55 on discogs in mint condition, assuming you have the equipment to play it.

Check the liner note of the album. It states the same...

I hope a rip of the original 2 VHS release surfaces one day, and/or that it's included alongside other versions in a possible rerelease eventually. Unless u have a VCR the original release is now totally impossible to find
