8 weeks today.....

8 weeks ago today part of our lives died. I don't know when the crying will stop, hasn't so far. We can listen to his music, watch videos and interviews, but to me all it does is make me miss the beautiful man he was. Knowing he won't have or make anymore memories. Dearest Prince I hope some how some way you know how loved you were and how much you are missed. I truly hope there is and afterworld so we can all be together again one day. Hug my daughter please. Love and peace beautiful one.

admission is easy, just say U believe, then come 2 this place in your heart.

It's good to know I'm not alone. Prince has dominated my thoughts for the past 8 weeks. Even when I try to focus on something else, all roads lead to Prince.

I lost my Daddy to cancer 9 years ago on June 10. I texted my sister yesterday saying, "wow, for the first time since he passed, I didn't think of Daddy on June 10th. It just dawned on me today." I think of my Daddy often but now the thoughts are always of the good times and there is very little crying. I am happy about that. Time does heal. So, I'm hoping, as the years roll by that my thoughts of Prince will bring about only smiles and days like April 21 and June 7 are met with only jamming and celebration. Or, even better, April 26th rolls along and I think to myself 'wow, I didn't think of Prince on April 21st' and smile at that very moment because when I do reflect on him my thoughts are happy, light and the tears are few and far between.

Singing 'I Wanna Be Your Lover' in elementary school was too much fun!

Like many of you I still feel great pain, I loved so many things about him and his message. I watched this yesterday, it helped to hear his personal outlook on life and death (@2m35sec). Love and peace to all of you!

Until the end of time
I truly adore U

Every day I wake up and remember and the pain is still there. There can't be anymore tears left inside me, yet they keep coming. It just feels like groundhog day and I hate it so much. Nothing will change it though and that's what hurts so much, nothing can bring him back and the world will always be the horrible bland boring colour that it is now. I just want him back

Wow, seems as though it's been longer. sad I'm still struggling to put some distance between this loss...and the loss of two friends last year. Some days are better, some are worse. Hang in there and try to keep busy with other things and other people--that is the best therapy. Be kind to yourself, give it time, and hang in there. hug

This might sound silly to some, but I have put the "Hamilton" soundtrack in my car CD player, and I am learning those songs - the songs Prince heard when he went to see the show and then raved about it. I think of Prince hearing this music and loving it every time one of the songs plays. Which means I am still thinking of him every day.

I try to keep praying that we will see eachother in the afterworld and up until Prince left us I was pretty sure. My daughter is there waiting, but there have been so many negative people talking about this is all there is he's gone. Well that would mean my daughter is and I can't bear thinking about that. Don't take that sliver of faith that we have away. I wanted so much my daughter back too, that's why I want to believe they are waiting for us.

Found this interview that Nashville local news channel 5 did with Dez Dickerson the day that Prince passed on. I had no idea he lives here in the Nashville area! eek

Not to sound too melodramatic, but the music world (and the real world too) feels like it's lost most of its "magic" now that Prince has passed. Talking just music, there is probably not another artist that I will be this interested in for probably the rest of my life.

Sure, I'll listen to a lot of new and different music, but nobody will be like Prince.

That's the whole point. For so many of us, even though we try to find an artist who does "IT" for us the way Prince did, we will never find that again. He was a one and only original--and there is no replacement. That's why I will always continue to listen to Prince for as long as I'm alive.

Moving forward doesn't mean you can't grieve. But to sit and no be proactive in life is to remain in the illusion that all the denial and grieving will bring him back. It won't, which makes it unproductive time wasted. Grief is a state of being - so is happiness, and gratitude.

Life has went on for all of us despite our levels or stages of grief. None of us have stopped working, or paying bills, or picking up the kids at school, or feeding the dogs, or Netflix & chillin' - or boff .

Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.
