1. He gave us quality music

2. he gave us great concerts

3. Great guitar playing

4. Almost constant music releasing, with great gems

5. Always surprising us with his fashion statements

6. Early on in his career, the hair, the hair...

Just in so many other ways....

CROWNS1

I was just listening to a concert he did here (SC) in '81. He was so young (so was I lol)...but even then as a kid basically, he was great with the fans...talking, making everyone sing, just so personable...that wasn't something he developed later...he had it from the get go.

Very true. I liked lots of other acts as well, but Prince alone gave me so many more opportunities to go and see him play. It was great spending time in his presence, be it in a small club, an arena or a stadium. I'm immensely grateful for all those days. biggrin

I have a Prince album for every year of my life.

It's really hard to fathom the rest of my time here will be without him.

Who else are we going to find that will give us exemplary concerts, then leave a do an after show. Who else does that? Who? Who?

-I'll miss the excitement of trying to leave one concert, adrenalin still pumping, trying to get to that after show.

Aww didn't he just. What a ride, we're very, very lucky. I'm grateful. Life would of been so much greyer without the magic he brought to so many of our lives.

Agreed. Aftershows and all the excitement of these and even just trying to get a ticket to see him. So much excitement.

And all the little exchanges with fans throught the internet also. From chatting to them, to even marrying one, to pranking them almost by performing songs that they would write about wishing he'd perform here on this forum. Even giving out tickets once to some special performance like Willy Wonka would have. And creating Paisley Park and performing there so often and letting people come to events there.

....Yes! -who else does this/did this....??!! Who else involved his fans so much??

I reveled in every show, afterparty, release, encounter over the past 35 years....

We are so lucky to have understood what we were seeing and jump on board - he was the ultimate demonstration of talent meeting opportunity, ambition and destiny...

I love him. I can't say anything in the past tense, it hurts too much to do so. But I am so so glad I never took him for granted and my love and support are undying.

A part of me died with him and I'm feeling as if that part of me belongs with him - and every rainbow I see now reminds me that I saw his rainbows live upclose in person and saw genius happen like lightening bolts.

Cheers to that!

One of the things that makes Prince my all time favorite is that you NEVER KNEW what type of music he was going to release. He refused to be pidgeon-holed. He took chance after chance and bet on himself time after time. Sometimes the release would be SO different from something he previously or most recently released that I might not know how to wrap my head around the change. But then, before long, WAY MORE OFTEN THAN NOT, I would think nobody but Prince could release something like this. How awesome is this? How can he keep changing it up and he still have no equal? How can even the albums that aren't rated as well still have two or three or four tracks that most other artists couldn't dream of creating or wouldn't have the balls to release? Spoiled rotten. In the words of Florida Evans, "Damn, damn, damn!"

He opened up his "home" to us with all the public PP events. Lots of people would hate on him when he was a non-performer. For me it was just an honor to be there in his space enjoying the entertainment whatever it happened to be. 💜 😢

So true. I can't think of another musician over the last 100 years who has given the wealth of recorded material and live performances as Prince (not Stevie, Beatles, Bowie, MJ, Sly or JB).

Exactly! I'm trying to come up with one...and I can't.
