It's already June 7 here in Japan. Prince is 58.

I guess he wouldn't have cared. And for me, it doesn't really matter as he'll be eternally no more than 30 years old in my mind. It feels like he was always working on something every day of the year, so I like to think that every day is a Prince day in some way. Every day is a celebration of his creativity.

Even so, I think I'll be commemorating this day by listening to the classic birthday shows from 84, 85 and 86 in my car. It'll be both joyous and bittersweet.

I'll be playing his music, watching interviews and videos and wearing my necklace that I pretty much haven't taken off since the 21st. So basically the same thing I've been doing every day since he passed. Oh, I'll also be going in for my second session of my P tribute tattoo. Pretty stoked about that.

The radio station here is doing a 24hr tribute, the hits, b-sides and ballads. So I'll support that and whatever else is taking place.

I bought a big ole fancy purple hat, but it's not appropriate for work, so I'm not sure yet. My daughter bought me a symbol necklace I've been wearing everyday already.

Playing some songs at a Prince party. Specifically, "Pink Cashmere" (as background for a poet); "Round and Round" (first time for that one!); "Pop Life" and "I Could Never Take The Place of Your Man" (me and a buddy on those); and finally "The Love We make" (can't WAIT to play that one, what a fantastic song!).

The party is going to be huge. We have our own Prince Bat-Signal! Mid-Town Houston is going to be awash in the symbol! And a buddy of mine has asked the mayor to declare tomorrow as Prince Rogers Nelson Day in Houston.

Thanking God that he was born in between my tears.

Purple music all day, wearing my white Tour tshirt, sorting Prince pictures, being at one with Prince all day. Reality intrues with work and a meeting of my main stamp club tonight, still the P man will get a mention for today in history at the meeting.

New Zealand has the latest time zone in the world, so its 5.39pm America time on June 6 as I type this, but 12.40pm on June the 7th here. It's winter here too, sunrise at 7.20am and sunset at 5.11pm with a chilly high of 16 degrees (60f).

I'm getting with my sister in law and some friends, go to the park and play Prince music and drink tasty purple drinks. Talk about Prince

Bumping his music all day, and maybe watching the SOTT concert on VHS.

Going to watch some of his concerts when I get home from work later. Will buy some purple flowers if I can buy some. I'm going to make his birthday a happy day always, a celebration of him, and not a time for me to dwell on his death.

Listening to his music of course (Detroit: 30 years ago 2day & First Avenue gigs), remembering him all day. He gave us so much! RIP.

Tonight I wore Purple, stood out in my pasture looked at all the stars and Thanked Him.

My local radio station has become purple for 24 hours. I will be listening to this all night and day.

This is CLEARLY the day for Prince music! I will be playing his music from dawn until the next dawn! We celebrate that mere fact that we were LUCKY enough to be on this earth the same time as him!

Oh, and my pendant arrived today, just in time for this special day, so I'll wear that too!

Thanks! Like Prince I do not celebrate mine so much, but unlike Prince it is because I believe in time. I am getting old!!
