Wearing purple and going to the tribute gathering tonight in Chicago.

I painted the shed door purple (wanted to do the front door but wasn't allowed ), played his music all day. My daughter chose to listen to It Ain't Over (live) whilst making a drawing of Prince after school (I posted a photo of it in the other Birthday thread). It is hard because I still miss him more than ever but I tried to stay in good spirits and enjoy the sunny day. I hope everyone else had a good Prince Day.

It's been an amazing day. I received an extra scholarship from my university, a birthday present arrived, and my boss gave me positive feedback for my work When was waiting at a train station, an elderly couple passing by giggled at me, maybe cause they saw the love symbol on my arm. Perhaps some jealousy I believe Prince made it happen as a reward for my admiration :yes:

I'm listening to Prince tributes tonight and playing his music. Then on Friday I'm going to a viewing of Sign O' The Times and live performance event.

In honor of Prince half my office all wore a shade a purple. To respect their privacy I won't post the photo but it was heart warming to see all ages, ethnicities wearing varying shades of purple in support of Prince.

Shows just how far his reach still is and will ever be.

I'm making this the last day I smoke a cigarette -- I've been a smoker for about 10 years. About time I let my lungs return to health. Maybe at some point I'l be able to play a saxophone again.

I've been watching the video playlist on BET Soul since about 2pm. I plan to watch Graffiti Bridge and UTCM broadcast late tonight. I've got the Rave unto 2000 concert cued up. What I really wanted to do was buy my kids an instrument today (keyboard).

And I've got my Paisley print dress on. I love Prince, miss him dearly today and always...

I played "Phase 1 and 2"....and I'm going to see if "G.B" or "UTCM" is being aired tonight.

All in purple today. But dammit I forgot my hat, I could've wore it while driving around since I can't wear it at work. Loooooving 92.5 today, they're playing Prince music they've never played before. Giving back history on him and everything. They're so awesome, and I know they love Prince. I even got my tix for the Hornblower Purple Cruise in July.

Listening to THE WORK and also watched 4 Those of U on Valium.

Met some dear old friends who happen to be Prince fans as well and we went to see a Prince tribute concert featuring various artists. They all gave very different renditions of Prince´s classic material ( like , for example, a Rockabilly version of Purple Rain or I Could Never Take the Place of Your Man sung in some Low German dialect, which was....well....interesting.

I usually don´t like Prince covers but we had great fun, the artists gave their best, some of it was unintentionally funny while there were also some heartfelt , passionate moments....they gave a good rendition of A Love Bizarre and Purple Rain , and one singer played an acoustic guitar and sung a really good interpretation of Cinnamon Girl, a very underrated gem of a song , in my humble opinion.
