On this day, the day that our Prince was brought into this world, the day he was gifted to all of us, I'd just like to thank all of you for helping in my healing and I am thinking of all of you today as we reflect, think, mourn, dance - however you are going about your day - on/about/to Prince and what he has given. Thank you for being there in all the tremendously lonely times and good times too.

Thank you for being there when my friend took his life in high school and I found solitude in "The Beautiful Ones".

Thank you for all the amazing memories you created with my two best friends, Kory'l and Michelle.

Becasue of you, I got a paper route so I could ride my bike down the the record store to buy your albums. Because of you, I learned about the economics of money early. There was nothing more exciting racing home, carefully cutting a slit in the cellophane, gingerly taking the album out of the jacket and putting the needle down for the first time on "Dirty Mind"

Thank you for doing Sesame Street so I could introduce you to my young daughter and now she knows EWF, James Brown, Sly and the Family Stone and a whole host of others.

Thank you for being so inspiring, my 80 year old Nana went with me to "Purple Rain" days after you died and has since wanted me to teach/show her everything I know about you. She thinks you are amazing (and a handsome fella) and asked to see UTCM and other videos/interviews. We're planning a 'Prince viewing party'.

Thank you teaching/encouraging us how it is done, how to be and how to see beyond ourselves.

Thank you for being part of my 40th birthday.

Thank you for opening my mind to learn about religions and beliefs.

Thank you for being mine.

I will be forever grateful and thankful for you being part of my life. Thank you for making it a little more exciting, a little more sweeter, a little more lovelier than I could ever imagine. I know djj...I go through periods of celebrating him and feeling so grateful 2 have been on earth while he was here and 2 have grown up with him (I am a '58 baby 2). Then there r times when I find myself so sad where I have to pick myself up and relealize that everything in life happens for a reason. I have always felt that he carried us with him on his journey through the music and his life it's self has taught us so much. The first time I laid eyes on him he was not a star yet (no where near it...lol) but just watching him at the beginning I knew without a doubt that he would b an Amazing Star! He still is and will always b 1 of a kind...there is no other.

I dont really know what to say - but I want to say something. Happy Birthday, and thank you for all the music you've given me.

I know it sounds kind of ridiculous but I told my husband I want our next child to born on June 7th, or at least a Gemini. I know it is pretty impossible to plan that to the date but if it happened I would be delighted and June 7th would be xtra special forever.

Aww thank you so much, I'll let tell her you liked it. I was quite surprised with it myself, she had kept it hidden until the end... It is so moving to see how much she is already so inspired by him and his music and wanted to listen to him live (we played It Ain't Over) whilst drawing. She was very committed to celebrate and mark the day with something special for Prince, and she did. I was still too upset to paint anything other than the shed door purple (not as artistic as this!) but I will try and do something when my emotions have settled.
