OMG!!! Prince was scandalous (no pun intended). How can you take your side piece to your other side piece's birthday party? lol What gets me is that Devin obviously still don't know that she was played and tossed to the side in a short 6 months.

actually Prince writes a lot of songs about the women breaking up with him

Susan Moonsie ended it 1981/82

Vanity ended it 1983

Susannah Melvoin ended it 1986/87

Sheila E ended it 1989

Devin Davasquez ended it

Only natural that he would "feed" off relationships for his artistic input. It's when we are heartbroken that we are the most vulnerable and raw.

These women all left him for good reason. Home boy was a straight up player, but I guess, like Morris Day says, gigalos get lonely too.

I read in Alex Hahn's book (I think) that when Susannah left him, he was so distraught, that he recorded some music with Susan Rogers working as the engineer. Susan thought the songs were excellent, but Prince made her delete them. eek

At the time, I never had cared about these relationships he had, I was always about the music. Now however, I feel that if these women are probably responsible for much of his great output, if for nothing else, serving as his muses. Maybe We should be thanking them for all those classics lol. Not that he needed it, but all this boosted his rep and gave him "bed-cred".

Yes, it's an interesting thing hear how he writes it off

Most of the songs are about him being cheated on, and his lover being unfaithful

I know. He wrote some beautiful stuff about Susannah and some painful stuff.
I would never want her to continue to go through the hearbreak, but it sure gave some classic music for the generations

'[H]e always told no one to talk to me. He liked me to be mysterious, and so I was.'

Translate: "He was thoroughly enjoying exploring the playground of my centerfold body, and wanted me in his stable of women. And so, since he was already banging and juggling a bunch of other women, he came up with this fatastic concept, whereby no one was allowed to talk to me or ask me questions, and I was required to go mute in public. Oh, almost forgot! I also had to pretend that I was dating his elderly dad. You know, for the added mystique."

or maybe he asked her to go with his dad. how else would she get access to him. i hate how fans try to trivialize his life and the people who actually shared a part of his life with him.

If this was already post before IDK but I don't remember this picture of Devin, so it is worth the post. 4 those that are not familiar with her, there are pictures of her in the Parade era with Prince's father John L. Nelson(RIP) and I think 1 with her. I always thought she was John's date, not Prince's

Maybe she's the

Falling in love with the face in a magazine (uh oh, not again)
All alone by myself
Me and I play my tamborine

in Tamborine lol

maybe?
