I'm sorry...Not trynna offend but I wanted to know Yesterday when I got off work I wanted to know more about autopsys so I researched some stuff and I couldn't even read them all...the thought of that being done to Prince made me cry and made me nauseous I'm more informed about the procedure now but that hurts me thinking about it. My mother had to have one, this was many years ago. To this day I cannot watch anything on t.v., or read any details about them. No problems with your post, nursev, but if anyone is curious I would say look up the information with caution. I'm trying not to dwell on what happened to Prince's body after death...he was such a beautiful, graceful person, I'm not religious but I feel like his soul goes on in some way. Thanks to the wonders of film and photography, his image lives on too.

I don't know details of the autopsy and now that you broght it up I really don't want to know. The cremation is still huanting me. My wish for him would been the Cryonics Institute instead. Cremation never bother me, but now I'm just totally bother by it, so yea autopsy is no no

Usually stuff like this doesn't bother me, but it was Prince

Thanks nursev. x If it's any help to you, I met the doctor who did my Mum's examination, he was very kind and respectful, and explained some stuff to me in the most dignified way possible. It's their job and something that has to be done in certain circumstances. Read what you feel you need to, but honestly try to set it aside and don't dwell on it.

I know and I'm glad he was kind and professional. I'm just working through it all I guess. It just was on my mind yesterday. Guess I'm just processing it. You have been so sweet with your responses and I appreciate that.

Autopsy was done to my (chosen) father too, but I am extremely good at denial so I manage not to think it through. Then and now again with Prince.
I understand your need to know, however. But take care of yourself in the process, too. Personally I was very glad to hear he had been cremated as that's what we've done in my family and what I want done when my time comes. Not for any religious reasons, but the thought of the alternative and what that does to the dead body is much worse to me than any autopsy details. [Edited 6/4/16 4:45am] [Edited 6/4/16 5:09am]

You never really think about cremation til it's somebody you know.
The thought of it becomes a terrifying image you can't unsee in your head. For me, it was my mother. And I barely knew her. Carrying the ashes of the woman who made me was sublime. I try not to think about it. Guess I'm sharing this to encourage you to not spend too much time entertaining these types of thoughts. [Edited 6/4/16 5:03am]

Nurse is hurt. The world's problems like climate change can only be solved through strategic long-term thinking, not expediency. In other words all the govts. need sacking!
If you can add value to someone's life then why not. Especially if it colors their days...

It's very hard reading stuff like that. I'm trying to avoid the gruesome details. I actually think is disgraceful that this report is available online. Where did our privacy rights go??

nursev--- I know it's awful but from Near Death Experiences I've read about and seen on Youtube, once the person leaves the body they feel nothing for it. They know it is their's but "they" are completely removed from it and feel nothing for it. So don't worry about Prince, he was already being a rainbow over Paisley Park

I read this a couple years ago ... very interesting and informative. Not for the faint of heart though. If a man is considered guilty

Personally, I want to be cremated. Burn me up. Maybe bury with me the ashes of a few classic Prince albums too, just in case I can take them to the underworld. I looked at the Cremation process on youtube and don't see how anybody would want to Burned up like that even if the Soul is not there!!!

i know enough about the autopsy process to not go and re-educate myself. i have a hard enough time sleeping at night sometimes lol. but somehow, cremation makes me feel better, after knowing what he already gone thru. its not like he's coming back, especially in a vessel that was cut up & mutilated. i think cremation was the right direction to take. now his remains are contained in a nice, neat package..the same way his soul was contained while he was alive.

The cremation bothers me more than the autopsy. Because he is really completely gone. Not a grave where one can grieve.
I dunno... when I think of "Rest in peace" I don't think of "Be burnt to ashes".

Grave at PP wouldn't have work, some fool would have him digged him up. Too bad cryonic freezing wasn't an option, cause there's a glimmer of hope with freezing.

I made the same mistake you did when you looked up the gruesome details of what an autopsy entails. Made me very upset and I'm normally really weird and fascinated by stuff like that. Just couldn't deal with thinking about them doing it to P. I just hope they didn't do -everything- to him.
