A few? falloff

Have you checked for duplicates? That's fun to do occasionally. My iTunes library is very well organized. Almost every track has lyrics and art (official or not) added.

Over all, I have 7,233 audio files -- and am missing so much. I just stopped downloading everything at some point. I imagine there are some people that have tens of thousands.

I screenshot this about 10 years ago on my iPod (5th generation) and created this thread on the ORG asking if people took the time to edit the art in iTunes.

You say your iTunes is very organized, so what's with the lowercase type, periods and quote marks? That is definitely not normal for iTunes! Looks very sloppy.

I KNOW there are loads of dupes on there, Just checked the obvious, I have 34 different versions of Purple Rain. They're all different gigs etc. Obviously it's duped on the PR album and The Hits/Bsides but I'm not removing one or the other.

.

Dupes are a nightmare, but I can't face sorting it out! I've got a 1TB external hard drive full of him. I know i won't watch/listen to it all again in my lifetime. It's just there. I question my sanity sometimes. lol

Oh they will! lol

I delete a lot though. some people keep crap sounding audience recordings. I tend not to. The only rubbish sounding show i've kept is 'New Morning Club' from '87. It was one of my first live bootlegs, it's a great show and truly historical to me. Thankfully audience recordings improved greatly over the years.

I'm a soundboard afficianado at heart though.

Background color due to using this image for the playlist. Will have to update the art for "Girl" so that it isn't a duplicate...

Well, this thread is a lot more fucking fun than the new death sticky. I thought I had a lot on my ipod but now I realize I need to get more. I have about 1200. Paid for most of them too. At one point when I was given a bunch of bootleg stuff, I just loaded it on the ipod without listening. So once in a while after that I would get to hear a song or outtake that I had never heard before.

I have a ton of shows In mp3. From back in the days when mp3 were popular.
I later updated some stuff in flac.
If it's not a great quality audience show, I sometimes rip it to mp3
But soundboard, outtakes, rehearsals must be kept in flac

I know you're kidding, but http://www.apple.com/ipod/

My 11-year-old iPod (5th generation) still works. I'm more amazed that the battery still works. Who knows how many hours I listened to that thing...

Wow, I'm not gonna lie, I didn't know they still made those only because the only ipod I had was a ipod shuffle.

Purple pissing contest time evillol Hell, I have 30+GB of just boots. innocent (Not that I've really been up to listening lately.) But a song for every hour of the day comes to mind, kinda like Prince probably had a woman for every hour, back in the day. wink

P.s am I the only one who rocked a Zune, the PC iPod wannabe? haha

why do people have such a love affair with FLAC? I really can't hear the difference between 320 mp3 and flac except flac has a lot more beeps and unpleasant sounds audible.

4105 songs, 13 days on my cell phone.

.

72 GB on my laptop.

.

.

A lot of it is boots. I'm still slowly integrating my bootleg collection into that, so it'll probably get higher. I'm obsessive when it comes to music and I want every available second of his work, no matter the cost (or space it requires).

Holy crap I'm so out of the loop. I have an Ipod that I got in 2007 but not sure what generation it is. I have almost ten thousand songs on it. And it seems like Prince comes up every other song. I guess the thing that makes me older is that I paid for all the songs. What a dummy I was!! Lol! I wonder though if I got a new Ipod touch (which look pretty sweet) how I could transfer the stuff from Ipod to Ipod.

You know, my large iPod sat unused for probably 5 years - but my latest Grand Cherokee has a USB input and iPod controls on the radio touchscreen, so it's gotten a whole new life as my in-car jukebox. The sound is amazing too since it's coming out of the docking cable and not through the headphone jack.

Also have an iPod Shuffle for working out.

As a friend of mine said "When you start buying 5TB external hard drives" it's time to admit it's out of control. He did have a lot of duplicates, photo's and videos 'though. He just needs 2 years off work...
