Is there any way that a Prince biopic could be made that wouldnt blow? It couldn't be done. Prince is simply too unique. No one could get the look and the behaviour down enough to be believable. Save America - Stop Illegal Immigration. God bless America. PEACE

There's probably an undiscovered talent out there that could pull it off. The question is, will the producers bother taking the time to find him. Christopher damn!

Plus he was such a private person, most of it would be conjecture and flat-out made up random bullshit. And I see all of your creations as one perfect complex

If someone tries it, I hope that dont commit the same sacrilege that the makers of the Nina Simone film did with casting the main character. Save America - Stop Illegal Immigration. God bless America. PEACE

Matt Lucas could pull it off RIP

Surely more of a documentary bio-pic like the Ayrton Senna, Amy Winehouse & Kurt Cobain films would be appropriate for such a unique individual as Prince. "Had to get off the boat so I could walk on water..."

I just cannot visualize it. How can you capture all that was him? You have to be the right size, the right height and capture the untold number of nuances about his on and off-stage persona.....and then there is the MUSIC. Good luck with that.

If after a few years a biopic is done I hope his role goes to an unknown actor. I don’t want to see Usher or someone like Jussie Smollet doing a Prince impression for hours on the big screen. I would hope that if anyone tries to make a movie about Prince, they approach it with the same level of perfectionism that he approached his art…but I won’t hold my breath.

No, I don't think Prince would like that and I wish he had a will where he stated that he did not want anyone to use his image for a film like Fred Astaire did. A documentary would suit him best. I mentioned before that I thought the inspiration behind the Piano and a Microphone tour was that he probably watched some of the music docs this past year, and was inspired to tell his story through music and the memoir was an extension of that. Just read the deleted Ebony interview where he talked about how people try to psychoanalyze you and figure out what your mindset was at that specific time. I believe he had wanted to set the record straight instead of letting someone else do it, but he never had a proper chance to do so. Love is God,

My vote is STILL for Noah Gray-Cabey aka Franklin from "My Wife and Kids"
He's got the look and certainly has the talent. I knew from the start that I loved you with all my heart.

No, there isn't. It would cause a worse public outcry than the tributes do! [Edited 5/25/16 13:16pm] "Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything." --Plato

No not really. Most biopics fail and Prince would be especially difficult. "Ray" only worked because you couldn't see his eyes and Jamie Foxx really did give an extraordinary performance. Plus, I wasn't that familiar with Ray Charles so I bought into it.

I think with the right director, actors, and writers, a biopic for him wouldn't be bad. Just keep the people at Lifetime and VH1 away. [Edited 5/25/16 13:40pm]

P's aura is way too big to be captured in a biopic. They tried it with Hendrix and failed miserably.....and who knows what's going to happen with the estate and approval of the music?...I like the docu idea. I thought Amy Winehouse's recent docu was brilliant.

Co-sign. A documentary like the Amy docu would be great. At this point I don´t see anyone who´d be able to play Prince, let alone convince his fans. Prince was too unique.

i don't know, but definitely not in hollywood, they butcher most of the biopics they make, just totally fuck em up.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
..and not to mention that Hollywood hasn't had an original idea in years. Nothing but remakes.

I think it would need to cover his early career around the time of his first record deal. The reasons being:
1. He must have been such a fascinating kid. 2. It would make a great story and I can't imagine fitting his entire career in 2 hours. 3. Nobody can play Prince post-1980 without it looking farcical or being nothing more than poor immitation. 4. You need someone who can LOOK, SOUND LIKE, DANCE LIKE Prince...and act. If someone can do that, they aren't in Hollywood yet.
I think the story of his early career could be told well if they found someone talented enough. But beyond that, they would need to spend 20 minutes on each decade and I don't see that happening. There's too much to tell. Each decade would need to be its own movie and frankly, I don't want to see someone play 80's or 90's Prince. The "Slave" period would be an interesting story, but again, only Prince can pull off the outfits and the high heels.
