They look amazing and sad at the same time. I bought 3 specials over last 2 weeks; Time and Newsweek both did full magazine tributes. ClassicPop did a wonderful full magazine to him last week.

I am disgusted with Mojo Magazine!!

Which ones are worth getting? I got the Time magazine, which i thought was pretty tasteful and had some new info and nice pictures. Q seemed like they didn't have much new to add to what they previously published.

The Classic Pop is ok as a regular tribute, but you really need this - 132 pages of Prince:

I've gone a bit mad and collected the Q, Classic Pop, NME, and Uncut tribute issues, and the Newsweek, Daily Mirror and Classic Pop one-off commemorative editions. The tribute issues all have very nice, heartfelt valedictory essays/articles about the shock of his passing and the enormous loss we are all feeling, paying dues to his massive contribution to music and culture. The lengthy essay in Uncut is particularly good. There are also numerous shared stories by people who have worked with and/or met him, and brief round-ups of his career highlights. I've only glanced at the one-off editions, as I want to really spend time to absorb their deeper appreciation. But they all look like time and care have been spent on their content and presentation.
Haven't bothered seeking out Mojo yet; pretty disgusted that they couldn't honour him with a cover, then have the gall to suggest that theirs is the 'ultimate tribute'.

Hmm that Classic Pop mag looks pretty good. Does it have stories about the artists in the studio? ¡The Future Is Ours, If You Can Count! https://www.youtube.com/w...A_zTY0qWWk

Look, Mojo ain't putting Prince on their cover because he simply doesn't sell. Whereas Dylan does. They've said this over and over whenever someone complains there's yet another Beatles or Stones or Pink Floyd cover: those issues sell. . In the end they need to abide by the marketplace, plain and simple. They're one of the few surviving music mags and they'll do whatever's necessary to keep on publishing. © Bart Van Hemelen

We got the Q here in NZ and it is largely a rhash of the 21 page Prince speical in the December 2014 issue, but the article they reprint from 1994 is worth the price alone. I had to pay for an airfreighted copy ($21.50 NZ or about $15USD). The Mojo and Uncut we will get soon hopefully. . Really want the time, one, but limited editions are hard to get in NZ, Also have the Daily Mirror tribute that cost some $27.50 compared to £4.99 back in the UK. Got some kind of love for you, and I don't even know your name

i see your point but given the global reaction currently I think they are perhaps making a mistake...so many newly curious people our there. I guess there's more than enough tribute publications already out there. Whatever..ain't going bring our man back.

That is a disgrace !! I dont care if Prince dont sell the magazines if that is their excuse - which is so lame - this has made me so angry !!!!!! I hope they lose readers because of being so insensitve and mean Thank you Prince for every note you left behind 💜

I was in the middle of a six hour drive in France and I stopped for a coffee. Saw this post and checked out what they had in the shop. Left with €34 worth of tribute magazines. Newsweek had a special. I'll post photos later.

The cover does yes, but the article is fairly bog standard.

. [img:$uid]http://thumbs1.ebaystatic.com/d/l225/m/mj8PfjBH3qkNyWGaWYssfjA.jpg[/img:$uid] . Choked up. Man, I feel you. Duane Allman has been gone a loooong time and people still get choked up over a magazine cover on a newstand with him in the band. Peace be with you, my brother. . By the way, you do realize there were magazines with Prince on the cover in the picture you posted, no?

But that doesn't seem to have bothered the other UK rock/pop magazines, who have all honoured Prince with a cover as tribute. Personally, I think the incredible outpouring of grief and rekindled interest in Prince after his passing should have made a Mojo cover feature a no-brainer. They obviously thought he sold enough magazines to justify putting him on the cover two years ago for the Hit'n'Run tour...and his actual death isn't worthy?

In Mojo's defence, they clearly had big plans for this issue with the covers album of Blonde on Blonde, which has been released as a special double LP issue. I take the point though that Dylan has had plenty of covers of Mojo and Uncut. I have more of a general issue with 'ultimate tributes' of in some cases less than 20 pages. That's nowhere near enough for an artist of Prince's stature. I hope they each have issues dedicated entirely to Prince planned, though in Uncut's case, they're making quite a song and dance about this 'special' issue, so that seems unlikely.
I bought the Time and Newsweek specials. Both are very good, especially if you're looking for plenty of pictures. [Edited 5/25/16 12:24pm]

I haven´t been able to find TIME magazine here. Maybe I´ll order it. What new info did it contain?
" I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"

. That's their business. How many of those mags have featured Prince on their cover in recent years? .
. Perhaps that issue was such a low seller? Also, this issue is part of a special promotion. © Bart Van Hemelen

I hope they lose readers because of being so insensitve and mean I think Prince should have been on the cover too but it's their decision who they want to go with. If they think Bob Dylan will sell more, they have every right to feature him. But with renewed interest in Prince since his death, I'm sure there's some people who don't usually buy Mojo but would have bought it had he been on the cover.

Im sure the MOJO magazine would have sold 3 times as much with prince on the cover. So basically they are brain dead for this decision. think about it, this week, most people are buying those mags with Prince on it, Id be interested in seeing their sales for this one. Im sure it would be low.

With all due respect, this is bull.
One of the most notable figures in rock history dies (the most notable in my opinion) and they can't even be bothered giving him the front cover.

Right now, the marketplace is prompting lots of magazines to have Prince covers, so your explanation is nonsense. Mojo just showed they are not agile enough to adapt, they just ran the cover they had planned.
