The Goidfather was sampled and used throughout Madhouse 16. I always thought some of the background traffic noise from the movie The Sting was used in Lady Cab Driver. But I guess both the movie and the song just used some stock audio sounds. Grits and gravy, cheese eggs and jam...

I've heard he had a thing for Blade Runner, does anyone have more information on that? I mean, it's a popular film so it's wouldn't be a surprise if he did, but I often get futuristic Blade Runner-y vibe from some of his stuff at the time, I always picture the opening of The Beautiful Ones soundtracking a sci-fi movie and the bit with God in Purple Rain always felt vaguely reminiscent of the similar bit from Blade Runner where the Love theme plays. Heavenly wine and roses seems to whisper to me when you smile...

"The Firm"..."Wall St"..."Last Tango In Paris"....I think he also liked the "Emmanulle" soft porn flicks from the 70's also. | |

Prince - Late Prince Halts Black Swan Screening09 December 2010 12:11 Caption: Prince (Picture) performs live at the Roskilde Festival 2010 Roskilde, Denmark .... Late Prince Halts Black Swan Screening
PRINCE kept film fans waiting for a special screening of NATALIE PORTMAN's new thriller BLACK SWAN earlier this week (beg06Dec10), after organisers refused to start the movie until the star showed up. The Purple Rain hitmaker was invited to a Los Angeles viewing of the acclaimed new movie, which features Portman as a ruthless young ballerina. But guests were left waiting for the credits to roll after the singer turned up 20 minutes late, according to New York Post gossip column PageSix. A source tells the publication, "He showed up just as you would expect Prince to do - late, with dark sunglasses and high heels. He said he really liked the film as he walked out." http://www.contactmusic.c...ng_1188639

Do you recall any of it? He mentions the part when Streisand and Redford break up and then Streisand needs a friend to talk to, but her best friend is Redford so she calls him even though he was the one that hurt her. It ties in the line "would you run to me even if the person that hurt you was me" from IIWYG. I remember that in the promotional video for Breakdown, he used clips from that film and Memoirs of a Geisha and The Notebook. Love is God,
