Prince & Mononeon - Black is the New Black This will probay be moved to associated artists, but in this article Mononeon mentions that the music he did with Prince was going to go an album titled Black is the New Black. Wow...But okay..we all have our own take and view on it..But I think its more so a great statement and play on words. But more so like morningsong said more on the ends as in "Black is still Black"..is still funky...is still good | |

I believe it started as a fashion statement. Ie, "Black" was the trendy color for clothing, and then the next year it was Orange, therefore "Orange is the new black".
It's also the name of a great TV series, set in a women's prison. So as the title of the show it's a tongue in cheek reference to the color of the prison jumpsuits. |
