Finally someone (Rosce) mentions the Prince tributes instead of Beyonce.

Now that I dried up my tears.....this would have been so much better just honoring him. Placing it between that other mess was brutal.....Sheila kept it together for the fans.....I found the other performances very distracting and kind of comical because they were going up against the legacy of Prince. I was so tickled seeing them march around on that stage like the old days, I have seen that with my own eyes....I thought for sure someone would break out a tambourine in the audience....I would have cut the fool on America...I love that song maybe a bit too much As far as a tribute...they could have did better with the placement..Beyonce opening was just good grief, and then all of the promotion for her and the keys the keys...DJ Khaled...I have issues with thirty and forty something yr old men men acting 17. Just ugh...Beyonce just has no soul when she sings and I think it what irritates me the most about the hype. I mean they are asking them what did you like best abou the night...man Beyonce just brought it, for real...Sheila just shut the fucking show down and the best of the show was Bey bitten choreographed so called deep performance. I felt that weight on her but as many times I have seen her perform, she NEVER disappoint. I'm so glad Mayte was there but was disappointed no Revolution .....oh well the tears will still flow, because this really jabs my soul that my Prince is really gone.it just sucks all around. THANK YOU SHEILA E AND THE REST OF THE CREW, WE FELT THE LOVE FOR SUREπΉπππΎππΎπ
You have to realize that Beyonce's fans are from a different era than Prince fans. Most of us are from the "old school" and know what real music is. I guess that they don't get us just as much as we don't get them. What matters is that we know that Sheila brought it tonight for our guy, and that's all that matters! |

I thought I was the only one - Beyonce has NO Soul and I do not get the hype imo Sheilah brought life and that is why I loved Prince his energy even when a sad song was life and Sheilah and her crew embodied that tonight
and I am glad that the focus is NOW on Prince, Shelia's tribute and Jesse Williams being all kinds of woke. Enough of Beyonce. |

Well, that was amazing! Gotta say, Sheila E brought it! She knew Prince like the back of her hand tho... so not surprised. What was a surprise was seeing Mayte. This woman loved this man. And JEROME! Yes! And everyone else on stage with them. Awesome! Thank you BET! |

I'm wondering if that was a statement, considering how Prince performed in heels and the problems it caused.

The BET site is giving me fits trying to play the video:
SheilaE Tribute
If you hunt around the source on the page for the vid clips you can find decent swf files. They seem to start in Low Quality, but get better a couple of minutes in. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Still it's nice to know, when our bodies wear out, we can get another

Nah, nah, nah! Hold up, that's not true.
Plenty of Generation X fans are both from the Prince era, grew up listening to "old school" AND grew up being Destiny's Child fans and Beyonce fans. To be honest, she is the closest thing right now to Tina Turner, in terms of her electric live performances.
My issue with Beyonce is that NOW, she is just a tad bit overexposed, which is fine BUT for tonight, I needed it to be about Prince and finally, it was. |

whew, glad someone told me that was his voice.. i was trippin.
Yeah I thought it was voice to from maybe a previous performance. If not, that's a vocal double out there. "I mean I always figured you were a trip at times, but now I'm beginning to believe you're a freaking vacation." -2elijah |

They BOTH loved him. One just got to marry him, but I think for Shelia, Prince was probably the love of her life, and maybe Carlos too!
Again, Mayte just got to marry him.
He got BOTH of them still whipped (and hurting). I mean Mayte and Mani did a Memorial service for him. And Mani is married!!!
Prince had an affect on these women. I mean his male friends miss him too BUT these past loves, they are really attached to him. |

From the way it sounded, it sounded like it was him from the Jay Leno performance of "The Everlasting Now." I could TOTALLY be wrong though. Feel free to shoot me down. Lol "We had fun, didn't we?" |

I was satisified...enjoyed hearing erotic city, beautiful ones, ballad of Dorothy parker...could have done without purple rain and nothing compares. Wish I could have jumped on stage for an encore with purple music, large room with no light, and all my dreams. [Edited 6/26/16 21:27pm] |

At first I though Beyonce was going to be part of the tribute. I mean the girl interrupted her tour route to perform. This is the second time Beyonce coincidentally landed on Prince's thing. Lemonade was released the day after his death and didn't she prevent him from going number 1 that week? Now this. |
