suomynona have you ever seen a BET tribute? Out of all the television networks, I'm sure Prince would not have objected to BET honoring him. It seems you made this topic as a joke, but most people are waiting for the BET tribute. Hope you enjoy it.

Yes, and I remember all of those years of them playing music videos that disrespected women. When people referred to it as Black Exploitation Television. I expect it to be as awful -- if not moreso -- than the Billboard tribute.

You should YouTube some past BET Awards tributes so you can prepare yourself for the wonderful celebrating happening in a month.

You've got to be kidding. Their tributes are usually on point. BET loved and respected Prince. I'm confident their tribute to him will be great.

If Prince was still with us, 10+ years from now when the mainstream wouldn't care about him, BET would be the only home he could find. Prince was very concious of his heritage and the plight of musicians like him. Billboard is the one who used Prince for ratings, otherwise they wouldn't have had Madonna do the tribute. There is a looooong list of artists worthy of doing a Prince tribute before Madonna. They could have had Stevie Wonder headline if they truly cared about honoring Prince. Prince knows BET is the only network that can do his legacy justice, and I'm sure he will be smiling from the heavens on June 26th.

Stephen Hill, president of programing for BET knew Prince personally and knew him well. Certainly ratings are always a concern for any type of television programming, but for both him and Debra Lee, its way more than that, its personal, and it's exactly what their audience was thinking and want from them.

Wolf Blitzer is already on record demanding a tribute to Purple Haze.

BET will do Prince justice. The tributes they do are good. All those names that have been mentioned in the Billboard posts will be contacted-Sheila, The Time, Revolution, Patti, Alicia......DAnglo, Mint Condition.

It will be a real tribute, and you will feel real good about it!!.

I can't wait to see this. I'm glad they're waiting a respectable amount of time. Billboard just seemed too soon.
