Any word on all of Prince's music videos being released on DVD?

I love music videos on DVD. And I was wondering if all the Prince videos will be released on DVD any time soon?

I call myself "millionairess" because it is more motivating than "paycheck2paycheck"

Respectfully, can we let the ink dry first?

.

But, no doubt the estate will probably try to release anything to keep the cash flow running, and stay in the black.

I don't mean to be disrecpectful. I've just long thought The Hits DVD was missing too many videos boxed

Respectfully, there is so much out there and I'd like to see it in my lifetime. I currently (as much as I'd like to be) cannot be glued to YouTube to see it all and I think a lot of grief fams are experiencing is directly related to the uncertainty of what's going to happen. So we want to know...

I've had music both dropped in and taken out of my digital music player so I would like to know that my most cherished love will be available to me when I need to experience his greatness. Hard copies. I buy hard copies of what I love.

It's been a month and I cannot listen To other music. My collection is old and has seen better days as it turns out. I'm kinda in a panic mode thinking I can't replace some stuff that was legally purchased by me over the last 30 freaking years.

I wish I had a clue where my hits DVD wound up.
Surprise, surprise.
Another treat. Another trick.

HA! My roommate, God help him, has a LD player. He has a shit ton of them. I have some Prince LDs, but for collection purposes:

.

  • Purple Rain
  • The Hits
  • Under The Cherry Moon
  • Graffiti Bridge

.

If we're being format geeks, I also have Purple Rain on the following:

  • Beta
  • VHS
  • CED
  • Laserdisc
  • DVD
  • BluRay

.

I'm currently watching a VHS rip of The Beautiful Experience on YouTube.

I watched this with my parents when it aired. I just remember hiding my face with a cushion the whole time.

Sample dialogue:

"If your endorphinmachine has come on it..."

"MOTHERFUCKERS! MOTHERFUCKERS!"

And that's only the first ten minutes.

This needs to be sold on DVD! Can't stop smiling.

iam a photographer so over the years i have carefully kept my photos organized on hard drives. I use 3 2TB drives, one drive is used to work from daily and the second one stores all of my finished work and all of my photos that i have taken to date. The third drive is a backup of my entire workflow. I also use cloud services to back up my work flow as a fail safe.

I use a similiar method of backing when it comes to my music collection.

Photographer here as well, I remember I bought my 1st 2TB drive, back when Samsung had the Spinpoint series. I was shooting with a Canon 30D doing JPEG + RAW, files took up quite a bit of space that way. Bought a 7D last year, CR2 files are double the size of the 30D.

I still have SOTT on vhs, no idea what I'm going to do with it as I don't have a vcr........

I have a Canon T5 and 5DSR I only use RAW and then edit in lightroom and photoshop. They released SOTT on dvd years ago, in Canada, burned my copy to a hard drive.

I have a load of Prince Laserdisc's, mainly Japanese versions, they are lovely items.

Didn't know PR was released on CED though. Nice.

We need this. I'm techno deficient so i don't have any hard copies or otherwise and would be more than happy to pay for them.

The 5DSR is expensive, but beautiful camera, if you are a serious photographer and can afford it, its the camera to get. .The 7D is a great rig too, putting some good glass on that like a 24-70mm or 70-200mm would be wonderful too. Even putting good glass on a T5 is very nice too.

It's a cross between a record and a laserdisc. You insert the cartridge into the front of the player. The player opened the end of it, and pulled the disc half way out, and played the video with a stylus. You never handled the disc directly. It was always in the hard plastic case (about 12" wide, but slightly taller). The disc is black like a record, but has that weird irresdecent sheen to it.

It would be a damn smart move by the estate to get a really comprehensive multi disc hits collection on DVD and Bluray, stuff appearing on youtube in abysmal quality then disappearing will have whet appetites. e.g. I want to get watch clear copies of songs like The One cause I'd not seen the video till a week ago!

I have zero I interest in music promo videos, to be only blunt. The poor outweigh the good by a ridiculous margin.

LIVE music DVD's, on the other hand.....I'd bite your hand off. Pro-shot full Prince shows on DVD? Yes. PLEASE.
This is not an exit

No.

I have not bought a DVD in maybe 10 years. Digital HD is the way to go.
