Prince's Other Vault Prince did an interview with Rolling Stones where he says he had several vaults.

So, has anyone read that other vaults were found and pened? I've only read that the bank opened One Vault.
Perhaps the will is in one of the other vaults? Anyone know anything about this?
I'm finding it hard to believe Prince wouldn't want to direct how his music is used once he passed - he was too protective of his music and it's integrity.

I would assume that he has many "vaults" that are not physical, but digital. It makes sense that he had a big physical vault for the stuff that he recorded until the 2000's, but I'm sure there are a bunch of places where the newer stuff will be located digitally.

Supposedly the real "Vault" filled up years ago as well (such that Prince was using the foyer space to stuff newer things), so he may have just meant that more recent work was also stored in other rooms nearby. In addition, as you say, the means of keeping recordings may have evolved such that he had recent things on hard drives. No Candy 4 Me

with some acts they will sometimes find some unknown or lost song... with Prince they'll find albums "Keep on shilling for Big Pharm!"

Thanks, I didn't know about the digita "vaults". I was hoping that there would be another physical place to look for a will. I was hoping that one would be found with instructions about what Prince wanted done with his music and his $$$. He was so private - and seems like he was distanced from his siblings -- so I would have liked his estate to go to those he truly loved and to causes he trulysupported. Now it's going to be divided by Statute - which may not have been what Prince would have wanted. I'm suprised they haven't checked with his attorneys to see if any of them had drafted a will for Prince. He was so controlling about the integrity of his music that I find it odd that he wouldn't want to specify how the contents of his music vault would be treated -- and who would over see the creative release of the music.

Why do you think that they haven't? No Candy 4 Me

Wow - It seems like they'll have to search the entire houe to make sure they find everything of value -- music and hopefully a will. I was more curious about places to look for the will - so that it isn't destroyed or overlooked. I truly would ike to see his will be done -- not a distribution of his life work based on a statute -- which means it's going to people who are blood relatives - but people who are not really close to him.

Under MN law, a will requires two witnesses to be present when it's signed, each of whom must also sign. The will also must appoint a personal representative of the estate, and it would be very unusual for the person making the will not to notify the personal representative in advance that they will be given that duty. For someone of Prince's wealth, the will would almost certainly be authored by an attorney, and that attorney would most definitely take advantage of simple procedures that allow the will to be kept at the court administrator's office so that it's not lost.
It makes a lot more logical sense that Prince, having no obvious heirs and unclear views about what he'd want done with his estate, and a belief he wasn't going to die soon... simply never got around to it. No Candy 4 Me

So for example, Prince had the will drafted by Johnny Cochran, appointing his mother as administrator, while Denise Matthews and Michael Jackson witnessed? No Candy 4 Me

Maybe the person who has it was instructed to let the circus go on until the death certificate is filed. The people who act a fool would get nothing. It would be the ultimate "kiss my ass". Surprise, surprise.

So Prince's plan was to screw his siblings into wasting a bunch of attorneys' fees, all while his estate was temporarily managed by an administrator chosen by the same people he's trying to screw (and which administrator will be in charge for now of going through the Vault), instead of the administrator that he wanted doing those things?
That makes no sense. No Candy 4 Me

That makes no sense. When did Prince ever make sense To us mere mortals? Besides if he was paying their rents and supporting them in any way. Maybe they were going to pay him back and never did. Who knows. I just know how people are and I hear people who think they deserve a piece of a pie they didn't help bake. I think it's a general rule not to lend / give money to friends and family. Tyka used Bremer Trust because someone close to Prince's finances told her to. Think about it... I'm your driver, you're my screw. Surprise, surprise.
