EMANCIPATION: DISC 1,2 OR 3?

I'm curious... What's your favorite disc of the "Emancipation" album? It's been said before that the discs each have different "themes", you know..
One: commercial/regular Prince album
Two: Mayte's disc
Three: somewhat more experimental/daring

I used to dig disc 1 the most, but with hindsight I'd go for disc 2. Disc 1 is spoiled by We Gets Up, Damned If I Do and I Can't Make U Love Me while disc 3 has "Style" his worst song EVER as far as I'm concerned. What you say?

Disc 2.

No question.

It's the best by miles and I can't believe anyone would think any different.

Numero 2 without a doubt!

With tracks like Soul Sanctuary and Joint 2 Joint there really is no other competition on the other discs.

Could live without The Holy River, though. The music is far too cheesy.

I'd have to go with 2, but I'd love to hear White Mansion and My Computer on there

Here's my take on all 3 discs...

***DISC 1---the most consistent and most commercial-sounding disc. But it's also the best one.

***DISC 2---the most mellow,relaxed disc.

***DISC 3---the worst of the three discs.Contains a bunch of throwaway tracks and lame hip-hop-inspired grooves.

Disc 1, only because I really really like White Mansion. I enjoyed Damned if I Do and Courtin Time as well. His cover of ICMYLM is apalling, but the previous 3 mentioned songs make up for that.

Anxiety

Disc 3.

Then Disc 1.

Disc 2 is too flowery for me, not to mention depressing to revisit after all the things he was singing about on that disc went so miserably south. With time, though, a handful of the songs on disc 2 are growing on me...but then, I'm starting to warm up to NPS, so maybe I just need professional help...

I dusted off my Emancipation discs last week and Disc #2 is still the best. It's one of his best ever in my opinion. Like all of his others you have to be receptive to it-- in the correct mood. The other 2 discs have a couple of very good songs but also some stinkers I just can't tolerate.
From disc 1 I like White Mansion, Right Back Here..., Damned If I Do, I Can't Make You Love Me, and of course In This Bed I Scream. I cringe at the mere thought of Get yo groove on, Betcha By Golly Wow (shoulda left that alone), and We Gets Up.
Disc 2: perfect. Seriously I wouldn't change a thing. I can't see how anybody would suggest making any changes as if they had a better vision or feel for it than the artist. Sure not everybody will like it but it works together as a whole which is what you want from an album-- it only happens once so often so we should appreciate it.
As for Disc 3 I take it for what it is: a compilation of songs P wanted to share with us. My favorites are Sleep Around, My Computer, Human Body (growing on me), One of Us and my favorite The Love We Make.
