dude, that's the thing though - I've looked at the official chats he's done online & tried to find similarities with stuff here, but that language pattern is pretty easy to mimic if someone really tried so we may never know! WOW. I am really BLOWN AWAY. I would be shocked if that weren't really Prince, and he seemed to be really enjoying himself. He probably would have kept going if someone had not asked him what he was doing up so early. That might have made him think about how much time had elapsed...or maybe Maceo was coming for an early morning jam or recording session. Child folks messed with his Boo Tamar

I recently saw Tamar being interviewed about Prince. She was very emotional, but she had great stories. She said that he was like her "Uncle Prince" and that he was always the perfect gentleman. He even travelled to CA to her nephew's graduation and interacted in other ways with her family, like flying her parents out to PP for a dress rehearsal of their tour. Her mother used to do some sewing and alterations for him, as well. You might have already seen the interview, but I'll link it here just in case.

I don't think asking why he was up is what made him bounce - if it really was him, it's suprising he posted under his real name, so it makes sense that he'd get in & out. Back in those days David & I were just about the only people on in the middle of the night, chatting about nonsense (we both worked crazy hours). Maybe he felt ok because it was mostly a convo w/ just the 3 of us?? But soon people started chiming in, maybe he sensed an onslaught I should have copied the entire thread, I think people posted loads of speculation on it when it was over, can't totally remember now.

i'd like to think that but I remember how we all (myself included) roasted him on a thread that said 'post your worst Prince pics' we had a field day, i felt bad afterwards because I never thought he'd see any of it. after that, and Michaels death, I learned to cherish him to the point where i wouldn't say anything critical because he did so much good. but i dunno, he did seem to be sensitive to concert reviews and album reviews too, so I don't know if it was 'water off a ducks back'. I think I remember that thread! Yes it was brutal. I imagine Prince was a very sensitive person. I think also, his difficult childhood/school experiences, probably made him very insecure which carried into his adulthood and that being in the public eye could be difficult for someone like him and any criticism triggered many bad memories from childhood for him.
