I think this caption had to do with the song Funky Design, where it says "just when you thought it was safe to go outside, I hit your ass with another funky design"

He probably had a new tune on the way he was excited to share with us, and just when we thought we were safe, boom, another great song drops. That is my theory at least.

Can anyone point me to the exact picture he used this caption on? Still having trouble finding it.

I've been reading discussions about this elsewhere and if my understanding is correct, the last picture on his Instagram IS the picture that caption was on, but the caption was removed and not the pic. Like I said, this is my understanding from what I've been reading so hopefully someone else will respond who can either confirm that or give you more accurate info.

Yes, this is what I'd heard also. For some reason, the "new dates coming soon" part of it was missing for a lot of people but I don't know why.

Probably, they have always had extended periods of silence.

It says something along the lines of "Just when you thought you were safe...more dates coming." but then the bit about the dates was removed after he passed, and then all of it too as it wasn't relevant any longer.

Yes I remember very clearly that he said more dates were coming. It's very profilic to me because when he said "Just when you thought you were safe" it really caught my attention and made me chuckle but at the same time it gave me a creepy feeling, we all know why now but at that time no one knew what was gonna happen.
