Has Howard Stern mentioned anything about Prince?

He has been a pretty big supporter and recognizer of his genius, curious if he has spoken out at all since this happened.

Seem to knows his chronology better than Kevin Smith did.

(no slam on Kevin. They both have their own careers to worry about and dont need to be all knowing Prince experts to be tru fans).

Howard the "Prince" fan, did a very fitting job expressing his purple sorrow. I loved that the article included Adam Levine's rendition of Purple Rain during Howard's birthday bash. Adam, the "Prince" fan, did an impressive job performing Purple Rain. My hat is off to him.

"So here I sit in my lonely room
Lookin' for my sunshine
But all I've got is two cigarettes
And this broken heart of mine
So let the rain come down
Let the rain come down
Let the rain come down, down"

The show was on vacation the week Prince died. The next Monday (April 25), when they came back, he addressed it. Howard's YouTube page put up a video of Adam Levine singing "Purple Rain", which people were raving about. The video is from some event the show was having. I am tired of hearing people cover that song. No one's ever done it justice.

Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

You know what? From the minute I heard Purple Rain during the film back in 84, the song struck a cord in my soul and as a result the song became my all time favorite Prince song. No, in fact, I'll go as far and say, Purple Rain is my favorite song of all time. And with the large amount of various forms of music I love, thats saying something. That said, I agree with you in the sense that Prince's song is a masterpiece. No one could ever do it justice. BUT, in defense of Adam (who is a Prince fan, like Howard), as a talented musician he's completely and painfully aware of the fact that Prince's Purple rain is perfection and NO one can ever trump it. I think his only intention was to do anything less than play the with heart. My opinion, he did that.

I totally agree that most of the people covering the song are doing it from the heart, and that many musicians were big Prince fans, like Adam. I like Adam's swagger in life, and a lot of Maroon 5's music. His cover was less appalling that others I've heard, but I was just sick of hearing them already at that point. And that was days after Prince's death. He just became another in a long line of covers. The one plus of D'Angelo & Princess is that they did something totally different. And that's why they got such high praise from folks.

Yeah, I feel the same way about Adam's talent. Sadly, I don't think the man gets enough credit for it either. That said, Adam's rendition of Purple Rain was done in 2014 (thats the 1st & only time I watched it). And as far as I know, Adam hasn't played a Prince song tribute since Prince's passing. I've only heard him share his sorrows as a fan and his thoughts on Prince as a legend. I applaud him for that. As for D'Angelo, I really enjoy his music. As for Princess, I don't think she's all that. I haven't listening to either of their tributes because I'm not interested in hearing anyone's Prince tributes. Not that I don't get it, but I only find Prince's songs physically and mentally pleasing to my ears when the man himself sings them smile
