What Prince song title or lyric would you name a child after?
HOLLYWOOD, Fla. - A woman whose name is the same as a popular Prince song and film has been arrested on drug possession charges in South Florida. Purple Rain, 38, was arrested Tuesday by Hollywood police.

I was doing my groceries in the supermarket today and the cashier girl was called Flo (as in rescent), so I think I'll go with that one. [Edited 5/8/16 7:38am]

When I have a daughter, I'm going to give her the first name Paisley and the middle name Park, so Paisley Park ???
For my son, Park or Parker in reference to Pailsey Park. No one plays the clarinet the way you play my heart...You're so nice.

To me, it was obvious. I think if he was the King of Pop, then he wanted his son to be the Prince. I don't think he did it to stick it to Prince. Because why? The rivalry was more media based, not real life based. He could have named him Elvis, or John Lennon Jackson, or anything else. I really think, in my own mind, that Prince was a name associated with the King of Pop title. . There is a story about why he named his daughter Paris. MJ, Kathy Hilton, and it seems like one other person, had a pact that they'd name their kids Paris. Ergo, Paris Jackson, Paris Hilton - and I want to say the fellow Paris Hilton dated a few years ago was also named Paris. That might have been the third mother to agree to that pact. Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

^If that is true, it would be pretty selfish and mean, because it would mean that Mr. Jackson really did regard himself as a king and his son could only come second place to him.

Not really. I mean, some of the Jackson brothers have weird names. Jackie's name is Sigmund Esco Jackson. LaToya, Jermaine, and even Reebie weren't necessarily common names when they were born. They seem so common now, because we're familiar with them. But Sigmund Esco? haha . It's only conjecture on my part. But wouldn't it have been more selfish to name him Prince, just to stick it to P? -- Let's not forget that both his songs are named Prince, actually. . Prince Michael Joseph Jackson, Jr. Paris-Michael Katherine Jackson Prince Michael Jackson II (blanket) . The Jr. and II always seemed odd to me. They're the same thing (as someone with a number behind their name). . But back to Prince.... I might name my kid Christopher, or a girl's middle name Camille. Other middle name options for boys would be Gregory, Alexander. Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

Speaking of names, the media saying that P & Mayte's son was named "Boy Gregory" is in error, right? It was a misreading of a form that said he was a "boy" named "Gregory"? I'd swear that was established at some point...

Gives credence to the king/prince angle, though. Clearly he saw his children as extensions of his wonderful self. As far as Prince related names go, I adore the name Paisley. It will never happen because my husband would laugh me out of the country, but I can pretend to mull it over. [Edited 5/8/16 12:16pm]

I read a questionable (and likely false) report that said Mayte had checked into the hospital under the fake surname of Gregory and since hospitals often refer to the babies as "boy/girl Doe" he became Boy Gregory. Makes sense in theory, but the article was rubbish to me.
