Strutter said: Do genius's believe in their own genius? Sorry but I can't post this on general discussion It's an interesting question. In Prince's case I'm absolutely certain the answer was Yes. And that may well be the answer in all cases. Einstein very matter-of-factly asked them to check his brain when he died to see if there was a reason he was so clever. Not the actions of a man in self doubt. And lo, part of his brain was missing, and the part they believe he would use for high level physics had expanded to fill the gap!

The myths around Mozart and Beethoven position both as believing themselves geniuses. Mohammed Ali called himself "the greatest."

Mozart said something like "those who think that composition comes easily to me... do not know... ". but he also said that music comes to him in a rush, that he hears it spontaneously in his head, while Beethoven said he could hear music playing all around him. The world's problems like climate change can only be solved through strategic long-term thinking, not expediency. In other words all the govts. need sacking!
If you can add value to someone's life then why not. Especially if it colors their days...

The word "genius" doesn't even have an agreed upon definition. It's changed throughout time and varies from one culture and school of thought to the next. If a man is considered guilty
For what goes on in his mind Then give me the electric chair For all my future crimes"
