I've started to do those facial expressions because of him "I was here in the beginning and I'll be here forever more"

There must be many others who have a story to tell about meeting Prince.
Anyone?? | |

OK. Here's mine. I wrote about this years ago here under the 1985 events, etc. sticky (and that's my picture of the invite, napkins, and news clipping that I sent the org above) Anyway, I was lucky to attend two of Princes parties in Mpls. The most memorable was P's birthday party in 1985 at the Prom Center in St. Paul. A friend of mine worked at the Flower Shop that did the flowers for the events (Bobby Z's mom worked there also) and that's how there was an invite. Anyway, my friend knew I was a huge fan (he was NOT, and thought P was gay). I was in such shock and awe that I don't think I could absorb it all (plus I wasn't completely sober) but I had a blast. I was too freaked to eat, but I remember food stations that represented different countries (Around the World in a Day LP) and that Prince was dressed as a pirate sort of. He had on a billowy shirt and tight legging type pants. (I was dressed as a slut/heram girl!) But I remember a girl with a dropdead figure wearing only a sheer white lace skintight bodysuit, so I probably wasn't dressed too slutty! Anyway, I got close to the stage and remember thinking..."I wonder if he wears underwear"! Great music, high energy. Long night short, it was announced that he was leaving. I saw all these people running for the front hoping to touch him or something. I decided to run out the back. Didn't know where the back was, but I ran! I found a door that led outside and just kinda stood there. Wondering if I was locked out. I didn't have my purse, only the invite. I heard the door opening and ducked down as I figured it was security coming to arrest me or something. A big guy was first so I stayed hidden, BUT BEHIND HIM WAS PRINCE! I jumped up and said "HI!" and he jumped, as did his bodyguard. I asked if he'd sign my invite. He pulled out a purple sharpie and did! I just stood there like an idiot trying to think of what to say. I was appalled when all that came out of my mouth was "are you wearing underwear?" He looked surprised and said "Yes, are you?" I said "yes". I was so embarassed I just turned around and went back inside! If I could only turn back time!

I'm skeptical of this -- she says it's 1997 but she's talking about cells phones? I mean, I know cell phones were around but I don't think they were that ubiquitious.

This actually made me laugh out loud! I've heard several stories of people kind of freezing in Prince's presence. Just today I watched a clip of Gabrielle Union telling a story of when she randomly offered Prince some tuna casserole. Too funny what people can blurt out when in the presence of greatness.

Thats how I feel. Im sure there's the possibility such stories may be real, as said sometimes truth stranger than fiction.
But there would have to be plenty people that have their fantasies too.

Yup had a cell phone, it was the equivalent of a burner, it was a Nokia. But by all means be skeptical.... The female I mentioned that hooked up with him never went into too much detail with me about hooking up with him, let me just be honest. We were Adult entertainers. Not when I met Prince, but after, anyway the female I mentioned lived in Minneapolis (I lived in Iowa), we both worked at a club called Sheiks, she was a friend of a female I traveled with when we went up there to work. Well my friend knew I had met Prince and the other female brought up how she was seeing/messing with Prince. Mind you my friend was f-ing A-rod at the time, I was seeing another celebrity X-boyband person, so this wasn't what would be considered a big deal, just me saying yeah I met him too, I didn't think anything of it then. Since he has passed, I as fan been online and reading and wanted to share. Sad to say I have no pictures from that night, sorry. βπ½οΈ&β€οΈThough. Bye bye Org- [Edited 5/15/16 4:20am]

Lots of us had cell phones by '97! "We just let people talk & say whatever they want 2 say. 9 times out of 10, trust me, what's out there now, I wouldn't give nary one of these folks the time of day. That's why I don't say anything back, because there's so much that's wrong" - P, Dec '15

Yeah I met Prince once it was in 1992 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. I was walking down the street minding my own bidness, just walkin along, feelin good. A man walks up to me and hits me in my chest, right. I fall on the ground right, I look up and its HIM! I said "Prince!". He said "Oops, I thought u were somebody else".

I thought I read a story by Alan Leeds stating that they would arrange it so that Prince would have girls ready for him but they were never groupies. Can someone confirm this? klick

40yearOldfan said: In reply to~ I'm really confused about the abortion bit It was a long conversation with a dude who said he was his tour manager at the time, (that I included to explain the "why didn't you go to the next show" partπ) he had called to invite me to see Prince at the next closest venue. In that conversation I was explaining that going to the show, was in no way possible because I was pregnant, at which point he decided to give me HIS (not Prince's) unsolicited advice. And it had nothing to do with him trying to get me to the next show, just a fool being a fool. IMO dude was a weirdo and had a insecure vibe. I am in no way convinced or believe if I wasn't pregnant I would have been the next official Girlfriend π. No no no not that, But the timing was Devine intervention in my eyes. I wouldn't ever consider abortion. And reading first hand accounts (online in media) of how Prince treated and cheated on most femalesπ³, especially the barely 17 π¬. It wasn't for me. I wasn't on a come up, never wanted to be famous so there was no reason to be exposed π and or get on that kind of roller coaster on acid ride, nope ππ½. I'm soooo content, having the experience of meeting the genius as nothing more than just a fan, still respecting him and leaving it at that. βοΈππΆππ½ Lol what do u mean barely 17 ??

No but from the looks of her profile she hasn't posted anything in years so i doubt she'll answer.
I have mixed feelings for this now. It feels almost believable but then someone pointed out another 'story' about MJ by that girl's friend. hard to tell what's legit or not. [Edited 5/22/16 20:45pm]

It almost changes how I view him.
I gotta admit though, I was waiting for it to turn out that Prince was bad at sex I expected the story to go like "And he just lay there and didn't do anything, he wanted me to do all the work and it turned out to be really disappointing in the end. I thought Prince was gona be a sex god but it turns out he's just a lump. No wonder he's always getting different women, cause they all get bored of him" Yeah... I'm gonna go ahead and call bs on her story, just based off her photo alone. That is NOT 1988 hair, clothes or eyebrows, lol! Yeah, that photo definitely looks like it was taken on the way to a Chris Brown concert in 2008. I'm not sure who they were trying to fool.

I have no personal stories about Prince. Growing up in the St. Paul and working in Minneapolis in the nightclub scene for a decade ofcourse everyone has an interesting "Prince" story. In fact I worked with people who worked for Prince in some way or another or even girls who dated/hooked up with him. He was certainly a staple in the Mpls scene. I loved Prince stories! I had a huge crush on him growing up and people in my life all knew what a fan I was so they were happy to share their Prince story but never got to meet him personaly..only saw him in concert. I wish I could remember all the Prince stories I've heard over the years to share but I'd really have to think about them. He was aloof though.
Once in 1997 I do remember accidentily walking into something the NPG was filming at the Union Depot Building downtown St. Paul as a teenager, I was going to get lunch at this place I always did on my break from school and was like ten feet away from Mayte (omg she was SO beautiful in person too much more beautiful than any picture I've seen of her and she had on a blue dress) and I remember seeing Michael Bland chatting with a few people. I can only assume P was lurking somewhere but didn't see him. This bodyguard dude came up and started questioning me about why I was there and I was like perplex like Wth is going on today??? When I saw Mayte I was like to the bodygaurd "OMG that is Prince's wife!" He was like "Yep. It is. Can I help you?" I pretty much figured out he wanted me to leave so I got lunch somewhere else that day.
I remember the day Prince died Tony Fly (local DJ) on Vibe 105 spent the whole day playing Prince music and sharing stories and people called in with their Prince stories. It was very emotional and my heart ached listening to it thinking....how sad it was that he won't just be popping up in Mpls at the most random times...I wish I had somehow recorded that radio show...couldn't listen to all of it but listened to what I could in the car running my errands that day. People were so in shock, it was very emotional around here in the Twin Cities...
