Back to the music for a sec: Come (1994) Prince's most NASTIBEAUTIFUL song ever Just listened to this on the way to work. OH MY!.....of course I remember grooving to it in my 20s but GOT DAMN!....its the true the Kama Sutra of Prince songs....a manual of sorts of how to "help a sister out" (wink wink).
Would love to read a sexperts take on the song. There's lots going on. There is the slow build, there is the asking of CONSENT, theres genuine concern for the partner's satification (if not a bit obessive)...and most of all, there is LOTS OF WORK put into it. DAMN near 12 minutes. (whew! i'm TIRED! from just listening to it).
Add to it spirituality and angelic harmonies and music overlaid over that unrelenting beat....truely a masterpiece of erotica...and its not even my thing but its impossible not to see the beauty in the nasty.

Here's hoping the inevitable deluxe editions don't skip this album. A 2nd disc including the alternate versions would be fantastic. Don't hate your neighbors. Hate the media that tells you to hate your neighbors.

Love the track but the sucking sounds, "change your underwear" and the use of the word "tallywacker" are embarassing. I can't listen to the song with company LOL

A true master genius at work, demonstrating that everyone else in the game are simply pretenders to the throne. The sound production is second to none and by fading into "Space" it forms a perfect suite of two of his most exquisite compositions. Also, the sleigh bells give it a classy touch!
Hi-yo Silver, it's The Bone Ranger!

Another classic example of a Prince song that's just too good for the radio.

It's good, but for me it's an example of a song that has better versions that are earlier and unreleased. I love this song, sucking noises and all Forever In My Life, forever in my heart. I love you Prince Rogers Nelson

The album version is just about the weakest version. The Live version from the 1993 DNA Lounge, San Francisco show is the best version that I'vev heard. He watered it down some for the album too.
My god, Prince was an f'ing genius. So many incredible songs. Most artists would kill to just write a few songs with that kind of quality and he had scores off them. [Edited 5/8/16 16:57pm]

How do you think I felt when I first heard all that munching going on during my trombone solo (not mad tho, still makes me smile and chuckle when I listen to it)

I think the Come/ Gold Experienceera would require a boxset, with all the crossover and whatnot. Always cry 4 love, never cry 4 pain.

Thank you, sir. Just thank you. Always cry 4 love, never cry 4 pain.

Awesome solo! I also could do without the "lollipop sucking" (?) sounds...
BoraBora: the album version is also my favorite. The raw/1993/Ulysses version is good, but it's almost a completely different song.

I always preferred the original. I first heared it live in de Brabanthallen in Den Bosch in 1993 when he played it (followed by Endorphinmachine and Peach) as an encore instead of 1999. To me, that was always the way it was "supposed" to sound: stripped down, monotonous, haunting.

Hahaha! I bet that was an interesting experience. "Drop that stereo before I blow your Goddamn nuts off, asshole!"

[Edited 5/8/16 16:57pm] Is the DNA Lounge soundboard or an audience recording? "Drop that stereo before I blow your Goddamn nuts off, asshole!"

Are you sure it's soundboard? It's certainly excellent quality but I'd always heard that it was just a really good audience recording, and The Databank Offline lists the Sabotage version (Starlight Lounge) as being so and doesn't mention any soundboard releases. Heavenly wine and roses seems to whisper to me when you smile...
