That whole show was nothing but highlights. I never expected to hear What's My Name, Beautiful Strange and Chocolate live. During Chocolate he said, "Something's not right" and then stopped the song to put on a pair of sunglasses. cool Also, the versions of Colonized Mind and I Like it There were fantastic. Even famous songs like Kiss and Controversy were played in ways you never heared before. A die hard fan's dream come true. Wow. Such great memories. After the show, people didn't ask each other:"What did you think of it?", but: "Did you love it too?" (in Dutch of course: heb je genoten?) It was the last Prince concert I ever saw. So this gives it extra meaning now.

Yup. It's FANTASTIC! Great version of Kiss too. Kiss is a song that I feel rarely work live, but here it's great. Probably because Prince plays guitar himself.
The wooh is on the one!

Enjoying it now. Thanks for the heads-up.

I just wish I could go back in time to see it in person. The world seems to have become far less funky in the last couple of weeks.

As far as I recall, he didn't.

He does. There's video from the show. He plays a keyboard solo as well.

Then my memory was playing tricks on me. It's been almost five years!

The bit with shades was hilarious. I would have killed to be in the audience. I love the bit in Mutiny when Ida misses the cue while he is telling the audience to shout mutiny and he grins all over his face when the fuzz bass cones in in error. So much fun being had.

It was a great concert and these two tracks are my favorites from this concert, they've been on a "Groovy live" playlist for years now.

Around lunch time the Monday of concert I read here about the first concert on Sunday and that a second one was decided for the same evening and I decided to go (from Sweden).

I am so glad I made it smile

Yes I made it but it was a close call - booking the plane online didn't work so I almost gave up but instead called a taxi, got a plane ticket at the airport just-in-time, passed security check , booked an Amsterdam hotel on a computer near the gates, hopped on the plane, did a super-quick stop at my hotel and took the tram and entered the Melkweg line early evening wink
Yes, we did have fun smile
