The man went to a symbol to distance himself from the name "Prince", it was the media that came up with the "Artist Formerly Known As". If you can't see the hilarity in stating on-air that the man wanted to get away from the name Prince by calling himself "formerly known as Prince" then you're probably just lookin' for things to get mad about. Good luck with that!

It's great see/read/meet all these Prince fans who were born as I was phasing out of my Prince addiction so that I could keep paying rent instead of clubbing till 4am. I was 9 when my parents bought "For You" and most every album after that till college. I got lucky w/a BA bootleg prior to it's release but after Diamonds&Pearls I couldn't keep up with my Purple Army peeps who we're embracing the NPG...my heart will always be with Wendy&Lisa, Morris and The Time, Vanity 6, Sheila E., fierce, daring, female warriors...I used to have a purple V etched into the back of my head but a Prince cut up front. Prince made it okay for women to own their sexuality. 💜💜 RIP Prince. Thanks for the memories. |
