Personal photos from Sunday 4/24 Memorials About 50 Personal photos here if you care to see... http://adobe.ly/24kDQvT I was fortunate to be able to hop a plane late Saturday night and head to Minneapolis. I tried going to the all night dance party but the line went around the block 2x and by 3 am I was certain I wasn't going to get in. Sunday I got up and visited First Ave, then Paisley Park. I also caught up with a local artist who was painting a mural on a coffee house in Uptown. | |

Paisley was so gracious- they had a small tent set up where they were serving slices of pizza to the crowd. The painting of Prince was a big draw for the crowd. It looks like it was painted there on the spot and left behind by the artist. That's a giant dream catcher above the painting. . [Edited 5/2/16 19:33pm] | |

I dont understand what people get from traveling to Mpls to stand in front of Paisley Park. I was there from Xenophobia but of course we were inside and doing things every day for a week = along with seeing a different Prince gig each night.
It would make me feel worse to have to stand out in the rain and look at the Park through a locked gate knowing that I will never see Prince there again. Save America - Stop Illegal Immigration. God bless America. PEACE | |

I went because there will never be another Prince concert, I wanted to be around people who understood, and I can't imagine Paisley Park will be around much longer. I never attended a show there. Thank you for staring the photos. My immediate thought when I learned of his death was that I wanted to go there too. I couldn't just leave my family and children and travel from the south west of the U.K. though, so seeing these pictures really helps. One day I hope to go there and see the area like he did. See everywhere that prince loved and places he grew up. It's never going to solve the heartache of him passing, but like you said being around others that understand helped you. It probably brought you closer to him in some way too. I expect it was a warm feeling, aside the sombreness, to be there surrounded by others that loved him. I guess that prince liked Doritos and ready made pancakes then? Some of the items people left are cute. I wonder what will happen to it all. That painting is stunning. Surely the rain would ruin it. Such a shame. |

Such a shame. I'm glad you liked the photos. Paisley Park is in a nice natural setting. There is a small creek in the woods adjacent to the complex. The pancake mix was a reference to a TV comedy skit here in the US. Google Prince Chapelle Show. I've read he liked sweets/ snacks so I imagine all the junk food was a tribute to that. | |

These are amazingly beautiful pictures. Thank you so much for sharing. The portrait of Prince on the side of the building is so beautiful! It warms my heart to see how so many people are expressing their love for this wonderful man who gave us so much. These pictures make me happy to see, although they truly are painful to see. The reality of him being gone is still so hard to accept. He just shouldn't be gone. | |
