Nobody gets me to the wrecka stowe anymore

SIGH, this still sucks so hard. I've been thinking hard about whose music i will ever anticipate so highly moving forward. and i've come to the sober relaization that is no one. sure i listen to other artists and will continue to but to not HAVE to HAVE the new release by a certain artist when it comes out knowing that it could be 4 distinct genres of music. anticipating which of the 4, which hybrids, etc. THIS is the most depressing of it all. while new talents will undoubtedly emerge, i'm not confident i'll ever crave or enjoy or have to digest and unpack anyone's music like his again. as an optimist this doesn't rest well with me, but as a realist too, its slowly sinking in. the sun is less bright, the world realizes this too, things have just SHIFTED. SIGH

I'm kind of in the same boat. Bruce Springsteen and D'Angelo are the only ones who's albums I consider day one purchases, and even then, there's no telling how long it will be before D'Angelo releases another album, if he ever releases another one. I used to think I was a big music lover but there's very little coming out now that I like. Michael Jackson and Prince won't be releasing any new albums anymore, Outkast are gone, George Clinton is way past his prime, I've moved on from the "artists" I grew up listening to like Britney, Christina etc, and of the few artists I like that are still going, only D'Angelo and Springsteen are capable of making me want to go out and buy their music as soon as it's released.

Same here. D'Angelo definitely. George Clinton maybe for old time's sake. Sade? She releases an album every ten years, so when she drops one, it's always and event. Kendrick Lamar? I hear The Revolution is getting back together. Maybe they'll get me to the wrecka stowe

I think the fact that there's so little out there that you want to buy shows what a big music lover you are. You love music, real music. Not fads or 90 minute advertisement for merchandise.

I'm in the same boat. Other than Sufjan Stevens and Radiohead, I don't really anticipate any new music coming out. It's just so...dry...barren. Or to quote Grandpa Simpson

but instead of weird and scary the line should be "boring and mediocure"
