Time to release new DVDs of Prince's major concert tours? Firstly, my condolences to Prince's family, friends and the global fanbase. It's still difficult to believe this has actually happened. Watching/reading the worldwide news coverage is quite surreal.
I have a suggestion: It's now time for whoever owns this material (Warner Brothers? Whoever ends up in control of the Vault?) to begin releasing professionally-shot DVDs of Prince's major concerts, especially from Lovesexy, Rock in Rio and the Nude tour to the 21 Nights at the O2 tour.
Not just for the core fanbase --- the reasons we'd all love to have these DVDs are obvious --- but also because there's huge international interest in Prince right now. So many people are newly discovering what made Prince such a fantastic musician. Many of them will never have gone to one of his concerts but they've probably been seeing clips of his live performances in recent news reports; there's also been quite a lot of coverage stating that you need to see Prince in concert (not just his music videos) to really get the full impact of his genius.
Of course, WB etc have a business incentive to start releasing these DVDs too, assuming they perceive sufficient public demand.
Any thoughts? [Edited 5/2/16 10:33am]

I don't think cashing in so quick on his passing is the way to go. The man hasn't even been gone two weeks.

I hope they release them all some day too. It's a hurtful place, the world, in and of itself. We don't need to add to it. We all need one another. ~ PRN
