Prince tribute at the White House for International Jazz Day - ft. Aretha, Herbie

Herbie Hancock intro at 1:10:36

Jazzy version of 1999 with Herbie and others at 1:12:21

Aretha sings Purple Rain at 1:14:18

Helen Mirren speaks right after Aretha, but nothing Prince related. No purple tatoo either.

The rest of this show is excellent, BTW.

I agree it was kinda weak. Check out her version of Leon Russell's "A Song For You" which starts at 10:50. Beautiful song, sung from the piano.

She sung that beautifully. I was hoping she would sing Purple Rain in a similar fashion rather than the one chorus by itself. But man that woman has lost none of the beauty in her voice.
