I can appreciate that she's upset. But it's not just a case of grief-stricken fans randomly lashing-out at her. You know what my first thoughts were, after I'd gotten over the initial shock of Prince's passing?... "At least we have The Vault." You can think that's selfish, or tasteless, or entitled - but it's a natural reaction to believe that a part of someone whom passes, will live on in some way. When many people close to us die you can think, "At least we'll see their children grow." Is that selfish??? We don't have that scenario with Prince, but we have the possibility of posthumous releases to look forward to... And then, within hours of his passing, someone who hasn't seemed close to him in years, and has made thinly-veiled disparaging remarks about him, is seen latching onto his family, and telling the media that the contents of The Vault shouldn't be released. It's downright scary to think that Tyka may heed her advice. That's where my discomfort with Sheila has arisen recently.

Not sure that's what Prince wanted as he said in The View a few years ago when asked if he was ever going to release those songs : "One day someone will release them. I don't know if I'll get to release them." He didn't say anything about not wanting those songs to be released. He just preferred to write new stuff...

Looks like Sheila doesn't really know that well what he wanted.

I can see the connection, her talent, her family line and connections. Plus he met her when they were both still young.

Here's the article where she talks about it all. She said they dated during Purple Rain. Jimmy Jam said some funny things about how the ladies would all be around but if one wasn't with Prince one night they would come up to the Time and say, 'What you guys doing tonight'? (that spell was strong)

Lol. Ya'll are crazy. I love Sheila but I cam confused about some things. In an interview I don't remember which one but she said that they were together since the Purple Rain days. Then the interviewer asked wasn't he with Susannah then? She said she didn't know about Susannah because Prince was private? Ummm didn't they all do shows together? Didn't he live with Susannah? How could she have not known he was with her? I always thought they got together during SOTT album and tour but earlier how did she not know about the other women? That being said I always liked her she seemed to really love Prince, but I don't know if the media is putting her front in center in all this or is she.

She is probably hurting just like all of us! I don't doubt their friendship.

I gave Shelia the side eye way back (P was still alive) when I saw her episode of "Unsung" on TVOne last year. She told the "proposal" story. I believe it happened, but no way I'd retell that story as a serious proposal...at least not on TV Shelia knows P probably got caught up in the drumbeats and she ran with it.
