I often wondered why Prince went back to dairy being ok with him again. Remember in his song Animal Kingdom from the 90's where he sang "I saw a friend of mine today in an ad sayin' what would do my body good, I told him him he was wasting time I say, if God wanted milk in me the breast I suck would have a line around the hood." I think him and Mayte also did an interview where they said they even considered tomatoes as a no-no because of the way they grew.

That was a very nice, touching read. They clearly loved Prince and weren't only in awe of him as a musician but also seemed to really care for him as a person.

I enjoyed reading this (of course the last paragraph about the last few months of his life made me sad) but it was a very positive article.

Thanks for posting.

"And When The Groove Is Dead And Gone, You Know That Love Survives, So We Can Rock Forever" RIP MJ heart

"Baby, that was much too fast"...Goodnight dear sweet Prince. I'll love you always heart

Thanks for posting this. His chef really hooked P up with some good grub. I remember his former chef (Claire?) used to complain because he wanted nothing but junk food (freshly baked chocolate chip cookies/cakes/macaroni and cheese)...I thought he had gotten away from dairy too.

interesting comment in the article...

"The last few months he had the flu or a cold, always. There was always something going on. He was off his game and needed to rest. I had to be careful about what I was serving him."

Yes, especially the part about the night before he passed. He very much wanted to be alone. Seems like he knew.

Great story. I also found myself getting sad reading it. The part about having the flu and cold often was really sad. I really wonder if he knew something was wrong. Sigh.

this was an awesome read. sad to see the comments on the cold and flu, but in general great to read about things like leaving peppers on a plate, or imagining him waiting in the kitchen and giving him the "im watching you" sign due to the smudge on the wrapping. I had to laugh out loud at that one.

This interview gave us more insight on Prince's mindset than anything that has been printed or shown on the news since his death

So great that he had people around that truly respected him when they worked for him and now as well...classy folks.

The chef says Prince seemed to always have a flu or cold for several months...

Did anyone else catch CNN today where Dr. Drew said that people withdrawing from pain meds say they feel like they have the flu? So his conjecture is that probably Prince got pain meds for some underlying condition, then got physically dependent (not addiction), but was trying to get away from the meds, which is why he had "flu like symptoms."
That scenario makes a lot of sense to me, because Prince is the type who doesn't like to feel dependent, so he'd be trying to get off them -- but apparently these meds are hard to stop.
Didn't he have a "holistic medicine" appointment that he missed Thursday morning, which is why people went looking for him? So he was probably trying to go more natural and wean off of the strong meds.
Dr. Drew surmises that he combined the med with another, or perhaps with sleeping pills.
It's disturbing though that CNN also reported that so far they haven't found any evidence of a valid prescription for the meds...

SO SAD! He was suffering so much -- and still traveling and giving concerts!

He also said he thought there was most likely an underlying health issue that contributed to his overall health condition.

^^ Yes, Dr. Drew thinks it was probably first used for an underlying problem that caused pain. But he thinks he was probably trying to get away from the meds because withdrawal symptoms feel like flu.
They keep talking about an epidemic of overprescription and overdose of these opioid pain meds.
Prince probably did know that he had a dependence problem (again, they explained the difference between physical dependence vs. addiction - addiction interferes with your normal life and behavior) and was trying to get off them, which is why he seemed to have a flu or cold for many months, according to the chef.

I had no idea he was no longer vegan.

I don't think I could live without eggs and milk. They're in most of the vegetarian foods I eat.

I still don't get how PP didn't have 24/7 security, although maybe P just didn't want to spend that kind of $.

If Prince had very low Iron, as is claimed, that alone would effect his immune system.

I also noted these comments with interest. To me, as much as many fans will want to deny this, these comments would seem to add weight to the HIV/AIDS theory regarding his death.

I am not really sure how watching a "conspiracy theory" documentary will alter my previous comment regarding Prince.

If Magic Johnson was not taking his medications as he is, he would have most likely died years ago. With the aid of his medication regime, he still lives a largely trouble free, healthy life to this very day.

THIS! This is why Prince stayed in Minnesota. Honest, hardworking people like this.

I'll have to take back what I said about Ms. Gutierrez, who is claiming to be Prince's GF at the time of his death. She claimed he took her to Dairy Queen, and I cried fowl as it's not a vegan place. But Prince was no vegan!

Now I believe her. A lunatic fan would have "known" he was a vegan as that was was reported on forever.

It is not a theorectical documentary. Real doctors and scientists speak on it. Watch it.

HIV testing is a farce. People were dying of the same symptoms of AIDS in Africa, malnutrition was the cause. People in U.S were not dying until HIV drugs became more prevelant.

Listen to journalist Liam Scheff speak on it.
