How can people be excited about Prince sales? I don't know.
Other folks putting exclamation marks about how much Prince is selling or his position on the charts? Like it's validation about Prince?
People feel good about this?

I would assume that in these hard times they find a quantum of solace in P getting recognition worldwide via record sales, also getting some new fans who might delve deeper into the catalogue after having listened to the compilation albums or the major albums

I don't feel good about this, Prince is dead and I wouldn't care if he sold another record if he could come back for 30 more years and just play shows to 10 people at Paisley. But what I am equating the sales to is not money but new appreciation. Why it takes death to get people to appreciate artists like Prince I will never understand. But the thought of new fans, new exploration of his music makes me happy...about the only thing that does in this situation. Warners is doing the vulture thing, it would be the oddest thing in the world if they didn't. That's the business part of music business, it's nasty and horrible and parasitic. But hell 3 million new people are listening to Prince and some of them, hopefully a lot of them, will keep listening. And Prince will live through his music and keep living. I just cannot feel bad that people are discovering Sign O the Times and Parade. I just hate like hell the circumstances. All good things they say never last...

Exactly how I´ve been feeling. I have mixed feelings about this. And, please don´t get me wrong folks, I know everybody grieves differently but seeing Spike Lee and hundreds or thousands of people dancing in Brooklyn made me feel a bit uncomfortable. But maybe Prince would want us to dance and party and not be sad about his death, so I respect that people deal with this in different ways. I wish I could. But I can´t. " I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"

I just like to see Prince back in the charts. This is the first time in about 25 years where I've looked forward to them being announced, just to see where Prince is - an activity that was a regular one for me for many, many years. I guess it's probably nostalgia, at least in part. That is the EXACT reason, and there's nothing wrong with that line of thought...

If Prince's music gets heard by a new audience or by those re-discovering him - then that is a good thing. . If people continue to buy Prince's music it will keep him alive. .

Personally, I think it great. Its a sign of respect and admiration. Not everyone needed to be 'hardcore' to miss him.
Plus, big sales will mean more interest in Prince. More interst in Prince equals more interest from record labels. More interest from record labels mean more chance of extensive vault packages.

More people will hear the music. The money does not matter. It could encourage a vault box set. All you others say Hell Yea!!

I don't think a single person wouldn't trade all of these sales for Prince being with us still. Not a single one.
It has been nice to see the amount of love he has received in light of this news. Yes, we can argue that he should have gotten such appreciation while he was still with us, but this applies to every single artist who dies.
On a more personal level, I was routinely mocked and teased for liking Prince when going through school. This level of respect and appreciation from the public is a very welcome change of tone.
As others have said, it's also nice to feel that new Prince fans are being born. I personally don't care one bit if it took his passing for some people to join the party - I'm just glad that some others may be experiencing the joy, beauty, and wonder of Prince music that we have enjoyed for so many years. Feel free to join in the Prince Album Poll 2018! Let'a celebrate his legacy by counting down the most beloved Prince albums, as decided by you!

I'm annoyed because I can't afford some of the stuff I'm missing. Lame. Thanks fake sudden fans. No matter the ©️, Paisley Park "official can never ™️ . He gave that to us verbally on Oprah in 1996. You can't take away from us, corporate. I mean O ( + >

I think it's great. Some artists die and they still don't tell enough to get in the top 10. That Prince is having a couple/three albums in this week's Billboard charts is a testiment to his greatness, his fans, and even the Top 40 fans (eg: When Doves Cry lovers). . I remember when MJ died. It was about a week after, and I was just cruising the record store, not thinking about MJ at that moment. I went over to the Js, because I always check the Janet section. I saw a huge empty place with a Michael Jackson plackard sitting there. It was a gulf of emptiness. I realized just how much people loved MJ. And that maybe they missed buying this CD or that album, and they went to get it to have it and remember him. . The same thing can be said of Bowie & Prince. My local shop still doesn't have Bowie back in stock. I've not been since Prince passed. . If people chant to vote with your dollars, then that's exactly what they've done this week. And ain't nothin' wrong with that. Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.
