A HITNRUN PRINCE ALBUM AT RETAIL
On Friday Republic will, in partnership with Roc Nation, roll out a physical edition of Prince’s HITNRUN Phase Two album, released digitally via Prince’s NPG imprint last year. With the explosion of activity at retail in the wake of the visionary artist’s death (his Very Best is on track to do 220-250k albums and 360-380k SPS this week), the recent set—previously available for download and now for Tidal streaming—will undoubtedly get a much bigger look.

Honestly, it could be coming from a good place... I don't have the album and really want it, and I am sure there are many others out there as well. I hope it is also coming from that realization and not just a money grab. However they made it here, though, fans get a win. (One more official Prince release that will be easy to get.) |

this album will go quickly in stores... it's already out of stock in amazon like the rest of his albums, and eBAY it's going for ridiculous prices. | |

Yes, this is not an instance of opportunism - the physical release through general retail was set quite a while back, well before the recent horrible turn of events. Both HNR2 & Judith's album have been available for physical copy preorders for many weeks now, with 4/29 set as the release date. What I noticed yesterday, though, is that Judith's CD is now no longer listed as coming on that date. It's on Amazon, but "unavailable". | |

I think it's set for a May 6th release in the UK.
I'm looking forward to getting hold of it- not heard it as I hate streaming sites, and my first chance to own it.
Whether I'll be able to listen to it is a different story of course, but I like knowing it will be there waiting for when I'm ready. | |

ordered it on the uk version of Amazon a few days ago and haven't received an e-mail about postponement or unavailablity which Amazon tends to do quickly when things someohow go awry. so atm I'd think that those who've already ordered Judith's album will still be getting it on time | |
