This is really fab. I was a teenager when this all happened but never remember seeing it on TV. He was nervous too but really made an effort to reassure Lisa. Thank you for sharing.  | |

all jokes aside it's good to read she still thinks so fondly of her night out with Prince. P was a class act for making sure she felt comfortable
I can imagine management not being too happy with the premiere happening in such a small place when all was said and done, but I still find the whole thing very charming | |

I always felt that contest was rigged!!! But I'm glad she had fun and most importantly I glad she treasures the experience. Beautiful, Loved and Blessed

Yes it was absolutely rigged to some extent. They interviewed her a bit before they told her that she won. They wanted someone the right age and living out in the boonies. | |

I was 16 at the time UTCM came out, and was living in Wyoming. I'm from Casper, and Sheridan is just north in the state. Couldn't believe someone from a po-dunk town in WY won the contest, but it was very exciting for everyone. I remember reading in the news that the banner they had hung in the town for the movie and welcoming Prince was actually lasso'd and stolen by someone in the night! | |
