For the past few days I have not been able to really let myself cry. I shed a few tears just now watching D'Angelo on Jimmy Fallon.

Still not real....I mean I cant even look at the pix of Prince on the wall, Im trying to avoid then it wont be a reminder that he is no longer with us.

It was truly beautiful. SNL veteran actress Maya Rudolph (and daughter to the late, great R&B soprano Minnie Ripperton) sang backing vocals. Just gorgeous. I indeed shed a few tears.

This was hard to watch so soon Wish i had not now, wish i was stronger like some of you folks.

Impressive. But is it me or does look D'Angelo like ihe's not doing fine.

D'Angelo sure got choked up during the latter part of the song...

A very emotional and touching tribute.

I started watching it on MUTE just to see what it looks like but just seeing D'Angelo and reading his lips, knowing he had/has his own health issues...

My advice is have the kleenex in your hands before your press play.

Thank you, D'Angelo. It really was a very moving rendition. He probably shouldn't have said Prince's name as it stopped him from getting the next line out. But it clearly showed that he's as deeply affected by what's happened as all of us here.

D'angelo with tears streaming ripped my heart out all over again.

I watched it when i woke up in my dark room and i cried and felt some emptyness in my stomach. So i am kinda sad until now. I wont hear more tributes for now.

I was doing good, I can listen to a few Prince songs and not cry but D'Angelo tore me up last night. I was a little skeptical when I heard the song he was singing. In fact, I thought that was out of his ability vocally, but the more I listened, the more I was drawn in. The next thing I know, I am crying, Like someone just told me the news. Then when D'Angelo got emotional and couldn't sing-I was a wreck. That made it really real. SNL was a nice tribute but it featured Prince performing, the way I remember him. But that tribute messed up. That was hard!!!!! I tear up just thinking about it.

What did he play? Haven't caught it yet.

Imagine if TTD did this.

That was beautiful. D'Angelo breaking up at the end...I thought I was in control at this point over Prince passing. Not after watching this.

I will have to give it a miss for now. Watching others' pain is also painful.
