It was truly beautiful. SNL veteran actress Maya Rudolph (and daughter to the late, great R&B soprano Minnie Ripperton) sang backing vocals. Just gorgeous. I indeed shed a few tears.

It was beautiful... I definitely cried and couldn't got to sleep for another hour

I controlled my tears up until the time he sang " I often dream of heaven, and I know Prince is there". It was uncontrollable after that.

Really heart breaking sad

It was perfect. And a welcome relief to so many butchering "Purple Rain" in the last week.

Honestly all the tributes are getting to me. I can listen to his music but for some reason all these touching and moving tributes just hit home and make me start crying again....

D'Angelo's tribute was definitly one of the very best and just wow...cant believe our new reality without Prince....

When will this pain go away??? If ever.....

The greatest live performer of our times was is and always will be Prince.

Remember there is only one destination and that place is U

Yes. It was stunning and beautiful, while at the same time painful and devastating. It is nice though to see someone who really and truly cared about the relevance and meaning of what he was singing/playing and not just doing something to go with the flow. It was a fan paying homage to an inspiration. It was quite honestly one of the most emotionally moving things I have ever seen or heard. Oh, and yes...made me cry as well...

I've avoided listening to that song. Been kinda numb. I felt so much better after hearing this and letting the tears flow.
