Greatest Obscure Prince Song?

Easy for me.

It's I LOVE U BUT I DON'T TRUST U ANYMORE from 2000s Rave Un2 The Joy Fantastic.

This song in one of his Top 10 Greatest Songs Of All Time. Up there with Purple Raid, LRC, The Beautiful Ones, etc.

What is your Choice For Prince's Greatest Obscure Song?

Great thread idea. I love that song, especially when he played it on the Piano and a Microphone tour.

This isn't a very obscure song, but I think Call My Name is simply divine.

Same with She Loves Me 4 Me.

Nobody I know gun' bite

3 Chains of Gold, And God Created Woman, and basically everything from the o+> album. Its a complete, diverse album that is in my top 5 Prince albums.

Other obscure favorites: Big Fun, Space, Somewhere Here on Earth, and The Dance (NPG Music Club Version)

(Insert something clever here)

I'm not sure we can call it obscure but it was never a major hit -- for me, Forever In My Life is a perfect song. The sparse arrangement, vocal layering and lyrics combine to make up one of my favorite Prince songs.

I agree about "I Love U but Don't Trust U Anymore" I had a listening party for that album when it came out, and our jaws just dropped as this song concluded. My friend just said "Jesus Christ!" (as in it was too good).

I think my fave obscure Prince song has got to be the crazy shocker "Bob George". No casual fan expects that from Prince! And it has made a lot of peeps in the past very interested that he could just produce somethng that bizarre and unique.

Although, it has scared a few others...

It's not an obscure song at all, but it's a very special performance:

.

A Love Bizarre - Live at Xenphobia 2002

.

That sax!! Those jazz chords under the chorus!! The whole jam was transformed and taken to a whole new planet.

Comeback

My favourite Prince song of the 90s. I don't feel like listening to it again just yet, but I did sing it aloud not long after I heard the news. Much like Prince's life, the song is beautiful but too short (another verse would have been welcome).

U been bamboozled, hoodwinked, took.

There few songs that seem deeply personal and which reveal some truth of what he was actually like and thinking at the time:

Dont Play Me

Lets Have a Baby sad

In this Bed I Scream

Old Friends for Sale

I Will

Absolutely! I also love 'Damn U', 'Crucial', 'My Love is Forever', 'Elephants and Flowers', and 'eye Hate U'....just to name a few. Honestly, I've always preferred the less played (obscure) Prince songs over the majority of the hits.
