I've learned that it took prince's death to gag the haters on here, I learned to be more grateful for what is, and to never take life or the people in our lives for granted, as it may be gone before u know it. I learned also, that Prince will always be with us, in his music and spirit. All u haters need to recognize, if u cant c right through these lies, good gawd!

And never ever, bury yourself in hate. NEVER. It's stupid. (...It says a lot more about yourself) - No matter what decisions are being made... Just chill and love.

I learned that it takes about three days for the org to deteriorate to business as usual. Prince, in you I found a kindred spirit...Rest In Paradise.

I learned that I was really ruined for death. The old me would have cried. I'm supposed to be crying right now. I know it. I remember the crazy spaz I was about Prince on the outside, and still a little on the outside. (backstory) My husband passed away in 2011. Then Grandma died. No tears, she's old that is supposed to happen. Prince died...well? I saw him twice and...he was a little 15 years older than my hubby so...I guess thats normal!?!?!
I don't know if I will ever cry again if I can't cry for Prince. It's really wierd. I guess I learned shomething is broken in me and I have a dark outlook.
Anyone else not cry because something "worse" has happened? Or for reasons you don't know (casual fans: I understand why they didn't).
I can't cry when people die now and its scary. I'm remarried. I don't even know if that would do it.
I'm worried what is wrong with me. No matter the ©️, Paisley Park "official can never ™️ . He gave that to us verbally on Oprah in 1996. You can't take away from us, corporate. I mean O ( + >

I'm still embarrassed when I hear him rap.. One minute they want peace……

OMG I was letting my bf listen to some of the tracks I like and then he started rapping and I turned blushing red and just skipped the track. I can jam on my own to it, but I don't think my bf is ready for all that just yet. This better antonb and PurpleSpirit319

That i love Prince more than i thought i did, even though i've been a fan for quite some time That i never thought his death would become international news That he is probably the most talented popular musician and band-leader i know of, hell even more talented than greats like James Brown and Miles Davis

Yikes! Hearing him rapping is awesome Stupid raps like Tony M's for instance... thats the kind of shit that gets on my nerves. You gotta have a smooth flow and simple lyrics to lay on a track, thats the funky way to rap! His style comes all the way straight from the Brother Rapp, the funkiest rap ever. Prince IS a funky rapper

That photo is funny! Do you think he really wanted to be cremated? I just can't see turning him to ashes...
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
I believe he didn't want to be paraded around in his death. I don't believe he wanted to be in a casket and for people to see him this way. I can't say for certain, but maybe he wanted to be cremated. This better antonb and PurpleSpirit319

1. I learned that I can cry about a person I never technically met. 2. I began to understand why I loved my hero so much - his feminism and commitment to racial equality were amazing. 3. I learned that he was more too - a quiet philanthropist and a good man. 4. I learned that he loved ping pong, who'd have thought it. 5. Most of all I learned, all over again, just how special he was. I'm looking out for a purple dolphin.

I've learned that Prince music in my life is apparently more obvious than I ever realized. I've had people that I've not talked to in twenty years or more, that I went to high school with, find me on Facebook. Their notes to me have said I was the first person they thought of when they heard the news. "I knew that Prince's music meant something big to you. You talked about him just about every day." It's been very interesting, and it's given me perspective. That maybe, through the joy and frustration that comes with Prince and his music, that he had an even bigger impact on my life than even I realized. . That not since my mother died a few years ago, have I felt such a huge loss in my life. . The thing is, my mother h-a-t-e-d Prince with a passion. You couldn't even mention his name around her, that the hairs on her neck wouldn't stand up. . Prince died on the same day she died a few years ago. Irony! I called my sibling and said, "Can you imagine the look on mom's face when Prince showed up this morning?". Apparently they had the same thought. It was one little chuckle I got during of this whole mess. . So I learned that even in the midst of deep sadness and loss, I can still laugh. And it's okay. [Edited 4/27/16 0:42am] Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

One thing that occurs to me over and over again, but something i already knew about Prince, that man was ahead of everyone. When he fought the labels and wrote slave on his face most people just thought he was gone, 20 years later he's celebrated for taking a stand. And, now, with his tight control on his music during life, the floodgates have burst open upon his death and I believe he will be even greater in death, the vault will be made public as will all the performances captured on video along with whatever else he created. A body of work which really has no rival in the pop world, you'd have to go back to Mozart or Beethoven or Ellington to find someone to compare him to. and just look at the names people are placing his with, Copeland being a notable one, as a great american composer. I think we have maybe just begun to be amazed by Prince and i think he wanted it this way.

That there was validity to the rumours we'd heard over the years. That in fact things were even worse than what we were being told. I know I said you can't believe the things entertainers say in interviews. You have to think for yourself, but... um... WOW!

I remember about 5 or 6 years ago someone leaked a personal letter written to prince, it mentioned his pill popping and then one of our posters said that they had a sense that Prince wouldn't live much past 57, wish i could find that thread now.
