. If this is the case, then I think the State of Minnesota should buy the assets as they seem like they genuinely want to be respectful to the Prince legacy. I think an individual or corporate entity would destroy Prince's legacy. .

I know most "fams" want the vault contents to be released in full. However, would you accept something like The Beatles Anthology series? It would only be a partial release, but it could be assembled by Jimmy and Terry. For me, I would want the 50 pages of his memoir that have been completed to be included in the first boxed set. And I do think Tidal/Jay Z should buy the vault. Just do it, give the family the money, and then spend what it takes to provide a worthy product to the world.

I personally wonder if the vault gets released and its dealt with by warners would that make everything we currently have as rarities be considered obsolete how would you feel ? Personally I'd have a hard time giving my money to warners. And what of the artwork ? If it's not the same the. Wouldn't b p approved how would that feel ? Personally I kind of think p secretly leaked what he wanted to leak and if it was meant to b we will find it (free). I also wonder if once the vault is opened will it decinigrate before our eyes like his photos of him "levitating" haha or just a note from him saying "gotcha". Either way I'd be happy with what I got. I'd like to b more like p and give more than I take but jury's out on that one. So far

Regarding everything in the vault... The more I think of it... I think NOT A THING should be released before the whole archives have been subject to a COMPLETE inventory: studio tracks, live shows, rehearsals, album configurations, videos, etc. This needs to be done by a devoted team of Prince specialists (former collaborators, maybe even some fan researchers) alongside engineers in order to determine which tapes, if any, are in the most urgent need of restauration/digitalization and do a clean job with this. A proper and cohesive system of cataloguing also needs to be established, to have a clear view of content, particularly when it comes to studio material. The task would take months, if not years, and would be costly, but it is necessary. Then and only then should and could the team of archivists make reasonable decisions regarding what could and should be released. Anything before that would inevitably rushed and probably disappointing. In the meantime it would be possible, though, to release the last 2 piano shows, as such and as per Prince's wishes. A Montreux boxset could also be an easy thing to release quickly, again as such.

Eye would love for them to inventory the vault based upon already labeled tape or file, prior to actually listening to it all. That would give us a taste of what is in there, without waiting years while people listen to every single recording. In fact, the list could easily already exist by now.

Two Music Execs Named To Oversee Prince Assets
LOS ANGELES (AP) — The entertainment assets of Prince’s estate will be managed by two key figures in his career. L. Londell McMillan, (pictured) the artist’s longtime attorney, manager and friend, and business executive Charles A. Koppelman have been chosen for the task by the court-approved special administrator. Bremer Trust National Association confirmed Thursday it was retaining the pair. The decision was first reported by the music magazine The Source, which is owned by McMillan. McMillan, chairman and CEO of The NorthStar Enterprises Worldwide, worked with Prince for more than a decade, during which the star was freed from his Warner Bros. contract. Koppelman, chairman and CEO of CAK Entertainment Inc., signed Prince to EMI for his “Emancipation” triple album.
Last week, a Minnesota judge authorized the trust company to hire entertainment industry experts to help manage and preserve the deceased superstar’s musical legacy while the court sorts out who’s entitled to inherit his estate. No will has surfaced. The judge wrote that he intends Bremer Trust “to take all prudent steps” to generate money from Prince’s intellectual property, so that it can raise funds for administering the estate and for paying what’s expected to be a hefty tax bill that’ll come due in January.

In this 1999 interview with Kurt Loder, Prince directly addresses his plan for the material in the Vaults. "Oh, yes, I'll give it away. I'm not going anywhere. I'll be right here." The conversation about the Vault starts at the 10:20 mark.

Neal Karlen revealed he was asked to write the libretto for a project called The Dawn, as a wedding gift for Mayte. We know it includes Welcome 2 The Dawn (Full Band Version), and The Divine. I'd love to see this record come out. "That's when stars collide. When there's space for what u want, and ur heart is open wide."

If eye remember correctly Alfred has some mental issues stemming from Vietnam and has been in like a veteran halfway house or something like that. eye dont think Prince had him in his life at all, really, as in not seeing him 4 15 years! This is a person that Prince wouldnt want in charge of anything. BUT then again, Prince didnt give his desires on the subject so eye can only assume he didnt care. Which is hard 2 accept.

I doubt that will happen - if it did it would be years before we see anything from the vault released. Look at Michael Jackson - every now and then one of his engineers will tweet a photo of a pile of hard drives and be like "Yeah I'm just looking through MJs hard drives, maybe we can find something for a new album." It's clear that they still don't know the majorty of his unreleased material, even after 7 years, and although prolific (apparently around 60 songs recorded per abum) his unreleased material is no where near the amount Prince has. And they've only managed to release 2 "new" albums (despite signing a deal for 10), and 1 remaster with outtakes.
