Unfortunately, only he could answer that question. I just think that he was feeling complete, feeling completely centered on God.

you're not the only one, Donny. That image creeped me out from the moment I saw it. It looks symbolic of other things, not of someone who has awakened spiritually.

Yes, but every other avatar, going back to 1978, actually look like Prince from that era. This is the only phase that is different. He looks gaunt, his eyes are closed. I agree with what you are saying as far as what it represents, but perhaps he knew something we did not. When did he change the avatar? I seem to remember it being a couple of months ago. I can't say for sure, but it was recent, within the last week or two. I was struck by the avatar when it changed because it looked so strange and unlike the others. The is the one thing that makes me think he may have known what was coming. The open eye, enlightened, totally different, sunken cheekbones. It's too weird.

The appearance of Prince began similarly to the first show, so I knew what to expect when the artwork of Prince with the 3rd eye wide open appeared. It was still as breath-taking as the first time, seeing this fade away to all the incarnations of Prince over the years. I had a thought last night, that Prince has come full circle. When he began his career, he had an afro, just as he does now. It is all a cycle, and it seems that Prince is feeling this cycle. The honoring of his father, John L. Nelson, the writing of his memoirs, life cycles. Prince had worn his moon shirt, the waxing and waning of the moon. These incarnations of Prince through the years, reminded me of cycles, the changes we all go through as we mature, but we always come back home.

You do put together things that struck me when I first noticed them, but not in the context we see them in now... It does make one wonder... The sudden announcement of a memoir gave me pause because I was thinking he would do that later on (if at all) at least in his late 60s or even 70s. Springsteen is going to publish one but he is a decade older than Prince...

The avatar looks like someone coming to terms with ageing and maturity. A bit like when we (in the UK) get an updated picture of the queen on our coins - every now and again they add a little touch to show that she has got slightly older. Prince was acknowleding that he was no longer a young man. In a world obsessed with youth, I'd say his attitude was quite healthy.

Unfortunately, I wrote that prior to Prince's passing. I had also told a friend later that day that I thought Prince was having such thoughts. Not cycles, but of going home.

Prince changed the name and avatar on the same day I think and only about 4 weeks ago. The Third Eye was something he always believed in but it strike me as odd that the Eye did not open at the release of the HitnRun II and after he had done some Piano and Microphone concerts, so it wasn't the specific icon for those from the beginning.

We are also so emotional right now with memories and thoughts speeding through our minds in a gush. I lost my Mom last year and I know these feelings so well. Prince's death just intensifies everything. It's awful.

But there were some things he said on his tweets in the last 3 weeks two that were just 'strange' to me but then He was never ordinary. But things like Despite Influence the planet is still beatiful, straight after Atlanta "I am #transformed, Just when you thought it was safe" (now deleted from Instagram). After the TMZ news of the emergency landing the tweet was "Now playing Controversy in Tidal Hifi" meaning perhaps "I just can't believe all the things people say" so it was kind of don't worry. But just look what happened in literally 6 days........ I have the avatar with the tear on my phone, I'll post it after this.

I just listened to the Atlanta show on Soundcloud, he says "THERE'S SO MUCH INSTABILITY ON THE PLANET NOW, I DON'T BELIEVE IN IT ANYMORE, HOW MANY PEOPLE CAN GET ALONG…….? EVEN IF ITS SOMETHING WE NEED TO STUDY TO PERFECT IT I BELIEVE WE CAN GET IT ON….."

Maybe we just read too much into it maybe I hear it wrong, please correct me if I do. But I just so hope that he was not secretly ill like David Bowie, or secretly depressed and we didn't know about it. I love Prince. I just wanted him and want him to be happy. In my dreams, he cloned himself, did a disappearing act and he is somewhere on earth at peace where he can live a totally normal life like ordinary folk.
