Yes it is called "the flu". He supposedly tweeted that he was sick with the flu before the ATL shows were even postponed so no reason for him to make that up.

None of us knows what the real truth is, and even if Prince did say it was "the flu" doesn't mean that that's what it really was. How many celebs have lied to the public, only later you find out what was said about them was true? Do you honestly think that celebs don't lie to their fans? Celebs lives consist of smoke and mirrors and the image they want to put out there. I don't care who the celeb is, you can't be that gulliable to believe everything they say as truth?

It sucks that when I check out the org these days I am mostly checking out an "autopsy" thread, whereas the news updates used to be about his recent releases and tours.

I'll say though that Prince most likely would have qualified as having a sleeping disorder and an eating disorder. Depending on the doctor making the diagnosis, of course.

This is a ridiculously oversimplified view of the pharmacodynamics of any drug. Just an FYI, people who are overweight or obese present just as much of a dosing challenge as cachectic patients because their organs are often impared.

Thing is no one knows Prince's medical history, we always felt nothing could touch this man, he seemed to get younger and younger looking at times, ate healthy, talked about it at least, but something was up we have to really realize that something was not right with him and I feel that it started way back in 2010. What I noticed now looking back at the time period between LotusFlower and doing 21 nights, he seemed to vanish, and then we he began to resurface he has this new look, more of how he looked at as a kid when he first signed, then came the news of WB resigning with them, 2 new cds, and talk of remasters etc...then that all disappeared suddenly, maybe being put off to another time when remasters might seem better? We are never going to know what happened overall, the Flu, Exhaustion, sleep issues, pain, medications mixed possibly, all of that maybe just took its toll, maybe even combined with another illness, we just dont know. But i think people around might have known, Saw an interview with Lenny K on Youtube the day after and the DJ asked him "what he thought" killed him and Lenny just said "i have some ideas what it was" so I think something was known and whoever knew or might have known will not say it, or discuss it out of respect for the mans privacy.

It was why we sometimes admired him, and sometimes hated him.

But you have to give him credit, he was always in control.

I think his death and the mystery around it is his final artistic act.

Generally speaking, ongoing, excessive speculation is pretty pointless right now because we still don't have an official report or any new information to work with. People are just bloviating, rehashing the same rumours and spinning one theory or another.

As December says, we do not know his medical history either.

The waiting is very hard and we're scampering around just trying to fill the silence, but no one person's opinion can be taken as fact. P could have been dealing with any number of the issues mentioned or none of them.

I'm from Norway and doesn't know this magazine..... I was really shocked and thought this couldnt be possible - have they no respect???? But I understand from all the comments that this is not for real....

The National Enquirer is known for making up stories on celebrities. Many celebrities have sued them in the past for libel. Only the most gullible of people would believe anything written in it.

At this point, I don't even care what the autopsy results are. He's gone. And we're not. It doesn't matter how or why. Fuck all the hovering vultures out there... Life...and death are tough enough without carrion eaters.

I have both types of those disorders and based only on what I observed of Prince from a distance, as a fan and outsider, I would have to agree with you. I recognized some things in Prince's (alleged, reported) behaviors and appearance that I see in myself that these disorders present like or cause. it makes me so sad to think he may very well have struggled with those issues, and more.

I feel the same way Purplethunder. Just shy of foul play, knowing Prince's cause of death will do nothing to lessen or intensify the sadness that i feel about his passing.

He's dead and he's never coming back...And that hurts like hell. And ONLY time will help heal the grief.

And the tabloids? Fuck them. Especially the National Enquirer. It, is employees and its owners can eat a bag of di*ks.

I don't think you are crazy for saying that. Even if it turns out there were factors of depression, prescriptions, illness, I believe there was some element of will in everything Prince did.

It is strange he died on April 21st, exactly 20 years to the day he had overdosed on aspirin and wine in 1996. On the same day in 1985 he recorded "Sometimes it snows in April".

The medical emergency the week before was 2 months to the day that Vanity died.

I'm not saying he planned this with precision, who knows. But artists are generally making stuff that is ordinary mean something even subconsciously. It's what artists do.

The only one I know of who made his dying an artistic statement was David Bowie. I can't look at the Lazarus video ever again.

Does anyone have the vaguest guess how long it will take for the autopsy results to come out?

Waiting like this is painful.

Prince was very affected by Bowie's death and even told Jeremiah Freed that he was communicating with the dead in his dreams. It wouldn't surprise me, especially if he was ill, if this was Prince's way of making a statement. Perhaps more subtle than Bowie, leaving more mystery in it.

Usually 4-6 weeks. Hopefully there won't be a long waiting list of people ahead of P like it would if this were NY or LA.

Since it is a very high profile case they probably won't rush it, especially with an ongoing police investigation happening.
